Oh I found the old pace router!

Edit: Think the router too old ard can't use. The broadband light is green but internet light is red and I'm out of contract ard so can't do a complimentary exchange.

Why do you want to remove the SingTel mesh in the first place? What are you trying to achieve?

For Pace A5520N (or the older Two Wire 5012NV) router, maybe there is not a way to put it into the AP mode to work with the ONR. But you can connect its LAN port (not the WAN port) to see if that works.

Wanted to move to my new house to use cos no longer need the wifi mesh for extended coverage if I'm no longer living at my parent's place.

Thanks for your suggestion, when I'm home later I take a look again.

Hi there, ever since I have gotten my AirTies 4920, i have been getting frequent disconnection from my wifi network. It happens more than 10 times in an hour. The internet will be disconnected and reconnected again.

Initially i thought it was due to the AirTies being placed too far apart as the 5ghz indicator light is red. But even after i place them closer together, im still getting frequent disconnection.

I have tried searching this forum for solution but to no avail since more of the answers are PM-ed to the users. Can someone please help me with this?

Thank you so much in advance

omg I thought it was only me. I have been using my air ties for close to two years and out of nowhere the WiFi keeps disconnecting. any solutions?

Good thread to read.

I'm using Singtel 1G Fibre. Plan to reconnect to get the Askey WiFi Mesh as now have promotion $54.90/mth. Is it a good deal or there is better WIFI Mesh in market.

Anyone know what model is singtel giving for ASKey WIFI?

If you are looking for a good mesh wifi unit that is bundled with your fibre plan, I think only VQ provides a good selection of mesh systems. The other ISPs have very poor options.

My advise is don't look at the "bundling". Just go for the no frills fibre plans that doesn't bundle with routers/mesh and purchase them seperately. Sometimes, you can get good deals too.

As already mentioned by the other replies that the SingTel mesh is not very good. The S$54.9 may not be a good deal either. Just want to mention that last week the promotion price is S$49.9 per month for the Mesh Bundle.

If it is Askey bundle, then it should be the AP5100W mentioned in the following review.
https://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/review-askey-ap5100w-mesh-wi-fi-system-review-singapore-singtel

For Airties it will be Airties 4920. Airties 4930 will be S$5 higher usually.

$49.90 Mesh Bundle is for new signup.
re-contract is $54.90

I think I will source the Mesh outside.

Good to source Mesh solution outside. If you have LAN ports across home, dual band mesh will do using Ethernet backhaul. If not, triband is good for wireless backhaul. As for brand, for example, higher budget -- get triband from Asus (Zen CT8 or XT8). Lower budget -- get TP-Link.

As for the offer, just don't settle with the online info, talk to SingTel sales online, or go to the SingTel shop, to negotiate the same deal with the new sign-up. For example, without the Mesh, the price is supposed to be S$44.9, but you can try to get S$39.9 (no new router probably). You may or may not be successful but no harm trying.

switch to m1/starhub @$29/mth

$25 per month saving can buy you very good mesh system.

$25x24= $600

if using mesh or wifi, you won't feel any difference between 1Gbps plan and 500Mbps plan.

in fact using lan cable, most people can't tell the difference between 1Gbps plan and 500Mbps plan, because there is a bottle neck once you link outside singapore, and you are lucky if you can get slightly more than 100Mbps.

Hi tch7759,

Our network team confirmed that what you enquired about is not possible as 2 different SSIDs are needed.

Hope this clarifies, thanks.

Hi Singtel,

I thought is possible? Can you please double check?

Air 4930 <3 Air 4920
One of the most important things to note with this new model is that it is completely backwards compatible with the previous model. They can both be part of the same mesh network!

The firmware for Air 4930 and Air 4920 is being maintained in parallel.

Any askey mesh user here ever experienced the unit power LED turns red and the other 2 band indicator LEDs went off? I have seen this happening randomly on my askey mesh nodes... Happened on both of my units but on different occasions individually... It will recover after about 3 or 4 minutes later...

correct. using wifi can never enjoy 1Gbps speed. 500Mbps++ is only accessible if the wifi router is totally within line of sight with no wall etc.
