I got a pair of 4930 with the singtel 2gb plan but I need one more for better coverage.

Qn 1. can I purchase the netgear orbi and add that to the airties 4930 pair ? Or must it be all airties 4930 ?
Qn 2. Is there a way to just buy a single unit and not a pair ? The singtel website seems to only sell them in pair.

must get 4930... i tried mixing with my previous 4920 (also wont work) :(

get from carouselll and de-couple it

Hi there, ever since I have gotten my AirTies 4920, i have been getting frequent disconnection from my wifi network. It happens more than 10 times in an hour. The internet will be disconnected and reconnected again.

Initially i thought it was due to the AirTies being placed too far apart as the 5ghz indicator light is red. But even after i place them closer together, im still getting frequent disconnection.

I have tried searching this forum for solution but to no avail since more of the answers are PM-ed to the users. Can someone please help me with this?

Thank you so much in advance

Anybody got any luck getting a single unit of AirTies 4930, apart from getting from Singtel?

Also to check, if we terminate the mesh subscription after 24 mths, do we need to return the mesh unit?

I have the same problem with the Airties 4920. The cut off disruption happens about 5 times per day (Singtel router Aztech of more than 3 years old). After I replace it with the Asus RT-AC1200G+ router, the problem has been resolved. So it could be an old and cheap router being the root cause. Unless you are technically inclined, would suggest you engage someone with the expertise for the set up - to enable both the router and the mesh pairs to be used either way, because I did call up Singtel technical support but somehow the guy is not able to guide me to a successful set up.

Hello experts, I saw there are a few types of mesh units in Singtel 1gbps bundle.
Samsung mesh and Askey Mesh. Which one is more stable and better ah?

I noticed samsung mesh bundle are priced slightly higher than askey mesh bundle by around $5 per month.

Both are bad. Buy your own Mesh better.

Afterall there are so many "bad" stuffs out there also. I don't need those 5/5 quality type.

Got recommendation? I'm just a simple user and the only wish is no deadzones, strong and stable connectivity. router will be at the standard HDB DB box (entrance) there.

Router should always be put in the living rooom

DB box = Distribution Box, you should get a switch to be put here

Get another ethernet cable to loop back from router to the switch.

From the switch, connect to multiple APs around you house and will no longer have any dead zone.

Hello your respond is very helpful! as i dont have a strong networking foundation.. would like to understand more cos unable to visualise

so within DB box area, i connect
1) FTP to ONT
2) ONT to switch
3) Switch to router
4) Router back to switch?

Then from the switch how i connect to multiple APs?

Let's say if i have 2 mesh units, should be enough right? 1 to act as router in the DB box then another mesh unit put at center of the house in one of the bedroom. Then actually I don't need a switch right?

Between the Askey mesh and Samsung Connect Home mesh, I would recommend you to get the Askey instead.

Come to think about it ah.. it is possible to do such a setup below
1) Within the DB box - FTP to ONT device
2) Within the DB box - ONT device connects into the LAN port directly
3) In my living room tv console area - 1st Mesh Unit setup, connected to LAN
4) Middle Bedroom - 2nd Mesh Unit setup, paired to 1st Mesh Unit via Wifi

Does it work? of the 1st Mesh unit MUST have direct LAN connection between ONT device?

My 2 cents.

Do note that ONT -> Switch is pointless. As a router function is needed before connection to a switch will work.

Your second scenario will work. Mesh unit 1 must have connect to port 1 of ONT.

ONT -> Lan Port @ DB
Lan Port @ Console -> Mesh Unit 1 ->Mesh Unit 2
