Update. The LG technician came down. Less then 10 mins. He told me that it’s a retention and it’s under warranty. So they will be changing my lcd panel for free. Wow. I’m just amazed. LG service is so good. At least my money is not all wasted and they doing it for me. But it takes a month for them to get the parts. So I’m cool with it. I’m lucky. Anyone having burn in issues. Please call LG and check with them. They really have excellent after sales customer service. Will update when I have my panel replaced. Thanks Bros

so burn in is covered by LG warranty?

i think if it's unintentional they will cover.

my 1st defect was one big patch rectangular burn in almost a year back.

the current one is the youtube ads burned to top left.

Yours is a 65 inch ? Mine is a 55c7.. Didn't receive any notifications. Hope it's because the power supply on it is not affected..and not because only 65 inch versions are being notified.

There's a burn in on my 55" C7. However my warranty period expired. It covers for only 3 years. I checked LG SG's website and learnt that it no longer support the product. I'm supposed to call them up to check. Was wondering if they can still provide support for my TV.

if the burn in is not prominent den forget it and continue to use until it's unbearable.

Has anyone install HBOGo on their C7? I couldn't find it on the content store.

Another forumer installed it on his CX for a few months already. Wonder if it is because CX is running a newer OS or something

mine also a C7, yup no HBO GO in the content store, and no chromecast. gotta suck it up. but gladly it have Disney+ app appear up on the content store on launch date here in SG.

i've a friend and one of my relative bought LG LCD TVs manufactured on or after 2018 all had HBO GO and even comes with chromecast.

My 2017 65" OLED C7T had a really strong defect at the right bottom side. does this fit a factory defect problem? because i am very sure it is not a burn in effect matching that shape.

LG SG as expected just $$$

Pertaining to your enquiry and attached photos, the likely cause of the screen mark is due to the panel.

As the warranty expired, the estimate cost to replace the panel:-
1. Labor: $210.00
2. Panel: $3,150.00

sad.....

Panel costs $3150? Literally higher than the price of a new OLED TV? That is just daylight robbery and straight up telling people to get a new TV instead which is not right.

Hi, may I enquire why you believe it’s a factory defect problem?
Was that defect of the panel seen during your operation when warranty was in effect?
Have you or LG team instructed you to run a manual pixel refresh compensation cycle yet?
(Is this option available for the C7) ??

In any case, no harm trying to ask LG SG to offer you a %discount on your purchase of next LG TV set. That is provided you still want to stick with LG.

Good luck.

PS: These days I’ve accustomed myself to the poor reliability of modern electronics, speaking generally. I do not expect any of my recent purchases to last more then the stated WTY period. Of cause if a product lasts longer then it’s a nice bonus.
That is why I have a hard time justifying a 77” OLED and breaking even whithin 3yrs of WTY/entertainment. An extended WTY on a larger set is out of the question for my budget.

i have no evidence but i never let it burn in at that position. the defect was only green blob or green tint. it is still ok with other colours. i searched around the web and it seemed 2017 panel has much complaint and exhibit the same green blob/tint issue.. I will try to see if they are willing to offer some discount for next set. But i doubt they are willing.

Otherwise i will just go for non OLED in future. Especially for 65" TV.

nothing new. possibly that is why nowadays TV only 3 year warranty cos they knew it would not last after 3 years. i remember my previous plasma lasted 10 years, Probably that is why those Japanese TV maker died because they were selling 1 unit per 10 years to a household. LOL

Older lg oled panels have the burn in issue but newer panels seem to be better. Any brand or what also will fail in some way, especially motherboard dying and becoming problematic. Quoting 3350 total cost for replacement is just dumb, brand new 65C1 can be gotten for like 2.9k. Panel replacement should not cost more than 1k for oled. Really lousy customer service here in Singapore from LG singapore.

they are quoting repair cost like Apple, which is dumb. Well but hope many people continue to buy prism here in sg so that will hurt the sales of LG TVs in singapore, which will likely bring down the price.
