Those eligible are faculty, staff, students and parents of Kindergartens, Primary schools, Secondary school, Universities, Polytechnics, Junior Colleges and Institutes of Technical Education. Those accepted into tertiary education and MOE staffs are also eligible. Basically the education store covers a lot of people.

i was expecting it cos i wont be running load all the time mah.

2.9 + the extra cache for my day to day VM's etc will be useful

My bad, I didn’t read properly. Hmm you can just try your luck purchasing from the education store. There is a high chance that you’ll be able to get it. At most is just pay the original price if Apple denies your purchase

Thats on sustained load ah... I wonder if there will be any optimizations though....adjust fan curve etc.

Still I'm going for the i9 just purely for my apps that don't run max load all the time...they will make use of the base clock and extra cache.

stealth launch i think is normal from Apple.

if there's nothing important/new to talk about. they will jus launch it. for this case, it's only spec bump.

and also considering the laptop market is getting more competitive now + the CPU in 2017 is more than 1 year old le.

and also the MBP is probably not ready before WWDC in June. and we know Apple loves to launch their Macbook Pro and available now or next week.

maybe there will be patches for the i9 issue? dunno.
i9 cache is quite important i feel.

my issue now is custom specs seems can't be ordered online and pick at Orchard arr...

Is their really no 1tb option on the orchard store? I'm looking to buy on that MBP 15" but want 1tb ssd =(

The i9 came out 3-4 mths ago.

Funny thought....I would expect all laptop manufacturers to have put new products through its paces in their labs. More so for Apple.

To me I speculate they may have some tricks to mitigate this...HOWEVER... thermal throttling is to be expected la...so much power in a thin and light.

They do carry CTO models but it's up to how lucky you are. They may or may not have it on stock.
For me I was lucky and I'm otw to collect mine now. CTO spec too

actually sold it at carousell for like 30min posting huehue, meetup early this morning... now I'm totally quite lost coz unless I want to wait for next week for new MBP or just buy the base model with 500gb which I predict I'll have same issue as my previous MBP... storage!
