I observed that there is static/ electricity currently when I am charging the unit. Anyone has similar experience? Wonder whether the 3pin adapter is grounded?

it has been around since the first aluminium macbook came out. theres nothing much you can do about it and its safe..

yeah. that's a staple feature of MBP since Macbook Air 2010.

some mentioned about using 3 pin extension cord to solve the problem. i would thought removal of MagSafe would have solved it.

guess the problem is probably that the AC Power Adapter is not grounded

hello all, I have purchased the latest 15inch mbp that comes with a radeon card. Though its nothing impressive, it is ultimately a dedicated gfx.

However, I have problem with playing a pretty ancient game - CS GO.

the images are jerky and laggy. The below is my settings. anyone knows whats going on?

A Macbook Pro cost around $6k.
The Macbook Pro so nice.

why would anyone wants to buy MBP and then use mouse? trackpad isn't enough?

unless I actually play games trackpad is more than enough for me... I find trackpade quite handy specially you're familiar with gesture you can only maximized your MBP that way. (its way better than mouse for regular usage)

If you are referring to the 8th gen intel CPU (new refresh), it only happens for the TB models

Apple confirms MacBook Pro thermal throttling, software fix coming today

Apple claims that it discovered the issue after further testing in the wake of Lee’s video, which showed results that Apple hasn’t seen in its own testing. In a call with The Verge, representatives said that the throttling was only exhibited under fairly specific, highly intense workloads, which is why the company didn’t catch the bug before release. The bug affects every new generation of the MacBook Pro, including both the 13-inch and 15-inch sizes and all of the Intel processor configurations. It does not affect previous generations.

Following extensive performance testing under numerous workloads, we’ve identified that there is a missing digital key in the firmware that impacts the thermal management system and could drive clock speeds down under heavy thermal loads on the new MacBook Pro. A bug fix is included in today’s macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 Supplemental Update and is recommended. We apologize to any customer who has experienced less than optimal performance on their new systems. Customers can expect the new 15-inch MacBook Pro to be up to 70% faster, and the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar to be up to 2X faster, as shown in the performance results on our website.

representatives said that the throttling was only exhibited under fairly specific, highly intense workloads

one of the videos also shows that i9 is faster is almost all tests except for a couple before this patch.

Apple appeared to have reached out to Dave2D to replicate his workflow in order to find this bug.
