e rubber prevents ingress of debris. dun think there is much movement/wear n tear. it doesn't move with e key.

Agree, seems like it taps onto the rubber gasket. More of a damping effect, hence the quieter keyboard.

Space grey look stunning when viewed in person, though classic silver look nicer in photos. Though of course your personal preferences will come into play

As days goes, the pressure lands on the rubber and but by bit the rubber automatically will wear off. And rubber usually got life span one . After sometime it will become hard and dry and fall off easily . Just like the stopper at the bottom of the MAC. All my rubber stopper are gone

Meaning, if I want to buy, I need to wait for new updated MacBook or MacBook Air (if the Air still remains in the product line) in Sep/Oct 2018. Is this right? Thanks.

That is correct. No updates yet for the non-touch bar MacBook Pro, the 12 inch MacBook and the MacBook Air. Only the 13 inch and 15 inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar has been updated.

Yeap, might wanna wait till Sept/Oct for an updated new model. But there’s no gurantee though.

What I feel is that: If indeed there will be new Macs, let’s say an updated Mac Pro, Mac Mini and/or the MacBook Air, they might do in October, as the September event might be solely just for the iPhone, Apple Watch and/or the iPad.

Just my predictions.

Space grey looks much sleeker. However, if you are a die-hard Apple purist, then go ahead with the classic silver.

The current MacBook Pro refresh is clearly aimed at more professional use (which is good because the last two gens were criticised for not being so). Up to 4TB SSD, 32GB DDR4 memory and six core i9 in the 15 inch.

If I were to guess that Apple updates the non TB pros, they'll be the "prosumer" variants and run i5-8250U chips.
