Likely a new MacBook Air variant is possible. If not then a Mac mini? Typically they can’t launch anything more solid than MacBook Pro. Imagine a MacBook Air with touch screen appear. Everyone sure kaopaykaobu

Mac Mini is positioned as the entry level Mac in Apple ecosystem, so of course it wont be more powerful than the MacBook Pro (unless if u mod it to the max specs)

Hope the belkin usb c gigabit dongle works. Some review on apple store claim got issues.

Bought amazon basics usb c Ethernet adapter damn cheap from amazon prime Singapore. Works well with my 2017 MBP.

think only the TB versions.

the dimensions are very different. you can see the video, the person got a hard time fitting his MBP into the sleeve, can tell how tightly fitted it is for the TB version.

I see, so which means they made the slot slimmer. Initially thought want to buy this for my 2015 MBP, but now cannot liao.

AppleCare is absolutely needed for the TB MBP. Since parts are welded together, minor issues will require replacement of the whole part. For instance when I asked Apple to remove some embedded dust spot inside my screen, they replaced the entire LCD + lid assembly instead which cost $600 (if without warranty)

Nope, my 2015 rMBP has both Intel Iris Pro graphics and AMD Radeon R9 M370X, so it auto switches to either graphics to best suit the program running.

If you're asking me, then the answer is a straight yes.

Reason is I've been doing photo editing and having that extra RAM and graphics power can really come in handy when in Photoshop or Lightroom. That bit of extra screen estate is also beneficial for my work.

Yes the increase in $$ is pretty steep, but at the end of the day it's all worth it. Do remember to get the type/spec according to your needs, don't spend extra just because it's a higher end machine and don't make use of its full potential.

Yes, integrated graphics. Now current one is Iris Plus. By itself the Iris Pro is already quite powerful with around 1.5GB memory.
