so what config is everyone getting?

im looking at the 15" with 32gb ram and 1tb ssd.

still deciding between the i7 and i9

it is but im looking to keep this for the next 3-5 years at least and fortunately Mac's are known to last that long. also I run VM's for work hence I need the ram and storage space.....

just worried that the cooling on the MBP is subpar hence the i9 cant perform at its best thus negating the benefits.

Pre-ordered silver 15 inch with 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD and i9 CPU. Just nice now got back to school sales, so there’s free beats and 20% discount on Apple Care. Will be expecting to use it for at least 7 years as my current rMBP 2012 is still running great. How I wish that Apple Care+ for Mac will be available in SG... it’s only currently available in US and JP.

Yes, while Macs are very expensive, they can last extremely long so it is very worth it in the long run.

I don’t know whether to get 13” or 15”. I use it mainly for email, word processing, rip some Blu-ray and occasionally photoshop. 15” has a big screen but I doubt I need the i7 and added ram. Hmmm..

I run a lot of VMs on my Macbook and my 2012 rMBP’s 8GB is struggling, so I was really wishing for a 32GB RAM Macbook for a few years. Finally Apple released a 32GB option, so I selected it without second thoughts. Having more CPU cores will benefit my VMs. Since I’m already paying a premium for this Macbook, my as well add $378 to max out the CPU. Good to ensure that the Macbook is future proof so that it can last for at least 8 years :)

Not too sure when the bts ends. But if you are already planning to get a Macbook this year, my as well get now to take advantage of the 20% off Apple care and free Beats. It’s quite rare that new MacBooks gets to take advantage of bts as usually larger upgrades are done towards the end of the year. I don’t really like Beats solo, how I wish Apple gives AirPod instead hahaha

$5475, it’s very pricey. However seeing my 2012 rMBP still surviving extremely well until now, I’m intending to use this new Macbook for at least 7-8 years so eventually it’ll pay off. With only a change in battery (plus top case) for $288 last month, I foresee my 2012 rMBP to be able to last for a few more years. But since I’m starting University soon, I figure I should get a brand new laptop for a fresh school start :)

think i must go visit a shop to try out the 15" again.

the profile for TB MBP is smaller compared to rMBP.
