2018 Macbook Pros launched

Been using my MacBook Pro for the past 1 day. It's amazing! I definitely love the trackpad.
Zooming in, going back/forward gesture. Only annoying issue is that my finger keep touching the Siri on the Touch Bar which I had changed to show Function keys instead.

Coming from a Thinkpad windows user.

You can customise the icons in your touchbar from system preferences. If you want to take things to the next level you can go nuts and customise everything on the touchbar with this software called bettertouchtool. It can display basically anything you want with that

I been watching movies since the 1st night I got it. so far no. crackling issues. But i did find the speakers not that loud as compared to the Ipad Pro 12.9 1st Gen.

Depends on the kind of project you are working on. If it is not super big, even a Macbook Air is good enough. Just that it takes a while longer to compile the project.

Any models will do. I was still using 2007 MBP up until 2 years ago to do my dev works comfortably.

The bigger screen is always better but you need to take into consideration portability as well. If you foresee you are going to have a big and complex storyboard, then you will appreciate the bigger screen asset of the 15". That said, you can always break up your big storyboard to smaller ones.

it is at the bottom right corner of the keyboard chassis. it is not super obvious from a far but could notice it from 10cm away. hard to unsee it once i noticed it.

i just contacted apple support, was told to bring down to AASP, Qcd for diagnostics.

did you also bring it down for diagnostics?

Since it is new, you can always request for a exchange directly from Apple.

I don't see the reasons for diagnostic.

i mentioned i have gotten the mbp delivered yesterday and noticed there is 2 dents and provided the image of the dent as requested. subsequently, the support went to spoke to his manager and said that i would need to bring it down for diagnostic to decide if I could exchange it.

maybe I should call them again to try my luck?

Apple has a 2 weeks no-qn-asked return or exchange policy, so just head down to Apple Store and firmly request for exchange.

The diagnostic is a formality to ensure that no user damage was caused to the unit (which will void the warranty). Did u take photo when u found the dents out of box? The photos will help support your case if the staff try to push the dmg blame to you.

if still no exchange, just return it and get back your money.
