At first I also thought mostly action no plot

But I find out more about this story from the anime onwards

Realised its actually 101% plot on plot very immersive.

Need to read in layers for example Cisha thought he employed the strong warrior to have the winning edge but it was revealed the strong warrior actually employed by emperor to give impression that the tribes are in control.

This reflects in real life politics…divide and conquer.

Saw this thread yesterday morning and decided to watch in the evening. Seldom watch a movie in SG and the last time was like 6 years ago. Chian movies mostly are average at best in my personal opinion. HK ones few are good nowadays.

I must said the acting of 陈丽君 and 李云霄 are really good. 陈丽君really made the 撕心裂肺 cry after knowing her father was dead. 李云霄 was captivating on her seducing role.

the fighting scenes very nicely made, no slow-mo fighting. Some scenes can be a bit messy like the Jet Li part.

True, hk actors got a huge generational gap. Their youngest famous actors is around 40s, all looking well preserved at best, whereas last time their actors hogging the box office are 20s to 30s, really got young fresh look

There were quite funny moments throughout the show and Shu is prob my fav, felt the ending was kinda rushed tho. Maybe CGI effects no more budget

and yes it’s damn accurate to the manga adaptation if anyone is asking

Hollywood and that One Piece live action can’t even come close to this
