but some say the plot is weak. I still rem wandering earth with seemingly good setting and fantastic cinematography but unwatchable due to super boring dialogues

Because the movie is mostly action and the plot needs to be discerned,

Not so much an intellectual dialogue movie.

But if the original anime version got canto then more meaningful.

Hey I think the same too. The only fight scene I think is the best is the one with Jet Li. But overall, the movie is not bad . Will watch again if there is part 2

Yeah that’s why the title Blade of the Guardians sounded so familiar, rem seeing this comic book in Japanese.

Originally thought was written by Japanese, didn’t know it was actually done by a Chinese

there is another manga is Blade of the Immortal dun mixed it up
(amazing pencil art...and centerfolds in the manga books)


This jap manga is also where this Blade of the guardian author got his insipiration to be a manga ka also..

Do watch in imax. It's like having a ringside seat to the terrific action. Maybe this time, I will watch imax at lido as the imax theater at plq was a small one.

i think no choice but to rush also la. else do 3.5 hr 2 part show many will complain draggy and milking money.

Then all the actors slot hard to book over long production, you see those popular ones one year might be 2-3 drama 1 movie and some variety shows commitment.

no say Wujing type already got based can 2 year do 1 thing.

I mean if can maintain quality i also prefer 2 parts

cos actually if u think back..the closest we had for china style was

Ma Rong Cheng..Tian Xia publishing then he stopped in 2015 , then all went into Jap style.

Top notch wushu artists movements really natural.. even when I watched shaolin temple may years ago, the fight scenes were still impressive ..

Now looking back, I think it was fortunate that Naernaxi was dropped at the last minute

And Chen Lijun was chosen for the role instead

Because of her 越剧 foundation. She actually used bows in her performance which suited her movie character like fish to water.

In the next screenshot, she was ripping out a section of the arrow feather

So that the arrow can swerve and hit the tribal leader who was protected by his group of lackeys

All this horseback and bow thing need foundation
