I bought a USB 3.2 10G ethernet adaptor that uses the realtek rtl8159 chip from Taobao.

However, when I run speed test, the internet will immediately cut and Windows device manager says that Windows has stopped the device because it reported a problem (error code 43).

If I limit the link speed to 5 Gbps, speed test can complete with no issues.

Anyone encounter this before? I already installed the latest drivers from Realtek website for USB controller.

What is the rating of the USB Port, is it rated USB 3.2 Gen 2 *2 (20 Gbps)?

If you are sure that the port is rated at 20 Gbps, it could be the HW quality issues, driver stability issue, or the USB port itself can't support the full load current.

Personally I will avoid such adapters and go with proper USB 4/TB4 (40 Gbps ports) to 10Gbe adapter.

Yes, the port is rated USB 3.2 Gen 2 *2 (20 Gbps)

My mobo is the MSI B650 Tomahawk.

Ok, guess I'll return the adapter :(

Just to pick everyone's brain here..

PC Rig:
MSI® B450 GAMING PRO CARBON MAX WIFI
AMD Ryzen 5 3500 6-core Processor
16GB Ram
Windows 10
(All data cable is rated at least Cat6 and I am on M1 10Gbps fibre plan)

NIC: (PCIe 2.0 x4 slot)
Model: WL-NWP004
Chipset: AQC113C-B
Driver: 3.1.10.0 (latest)
*Device Manager settings:
- Energy-Efficient Ethernet (EEE): Set to Disabled
- Power Management Tab: Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
- Recv Segment Coalescing (RSC) (IPv4/IPv6): Set to Enabled.
- Flow Control: Set to Disabled.
- Jumbo Packet: Set to Disabled
- Interrupt Moderation: Set to Enabled, but change Interrupt Moderation Rate to Adaptive
- Speed & Duplex: Set to 10 Gbps Full Duplex
- Maximum Number of RSS Queues: Set to 4 Queues

Router: (Direct wired backhaul)
TP-link Deco BE85
Tested internet speed from router to satellite = 8.17Gbps dl / 9.13Gbps ul

Question
*Prior to having those settings in device manager, I can achieve 6000+ Mbps in both dl/ul but network will disconnect randomly. After tweaking the settings (as above), I no longer experience any disconnect for a straight few days already. The downside is I can only achieve 3500+ Mbps dl / 6000+ Mbps ul. How can I improve my current situation while maintaining the stability?

- Used speed test app from Microsoft store

For the frequent network disconnection, just set "Recv Segment Coalescing (IPv4)" to Disabled. Note: the disconnection usually only happens under heavy network load, e.g. torrenting.
For the other settings you made, you can revert them to their defaults. Then see if your Speedtest download gets back to 6000 Mbps.

The Marvell chipsets are notorious sh*t :ROFLMAO:

am using the same NIC as you . i tot my 6000+- got speed issue. Was hoping 8000+-. Anyone got solutions?
My router is HB710 and on SH network

Mine is default, would suggest that you reset NIC properties to back to default. Just turn off WOL and uncheck allow computer to turn off this device to save power.

DNS IPV4 and IPV6, set to cloudflare ones. Then see speedtest again via windows.
I have heard that using different browser will give different speed. I cannot confirm as i only use chrome.

There is a updated firmware 3.1.11.0 in Marvell webpage. Go download from there. It will not supersede/update your current firmware as it will recognize 3.1.10 as the latest.

1. Download Marvell drivers from https://www.marvell.com/support/downloads.html
A. Category - Marvell Public Drivers
B. Platform - Windows
C. AQC113 / AQC113C / AQC 113CS - All the same driver
D. Press apply and download to desktop
2. Control Panel - Devices - Network Adaptor - Marvell Aquion - Properties - Driver - Uninstall device
3. Reboot after uninstall device.
4. Control Panel - Devices - unknown device - properties - update driver - choose location of driver.
5. Once installed. Reboot for changes to take effect.
6 . You should see 3.1.11 in the driver details.

Uncheck WOL and "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
Energy-Efficient Ethernet (EEE): Set to Disabled
Speed & Duplex: Set to 10 Gbps Full Duplex.
Recv Segment Coalescing (RSC) (IPv4/IPv6): i remain default.

Only issue i have is that i cannot torrent and WZ at the same time, it will crash the network adaptor.
IF anyone got a fix, please share

Disabling RSC will reduce the bandwidth dramatically for me, from 6000mbps to about between 2000 to 2400 up/down and can go as low as 1gbps, that why i remain default.
So if anyone got better suggestions, i am open to try.

my bad, disabling RSC only reduces my bandwidth if i torrent and play WZ at the same time. But 1 thing for sure, it did not disconnect my NIC. Else download speed remains 7000+ and upload 5000+

For those running USB network adapters running speed test at 10Gbps, could you post what's your CPU utilization like?
