Iirc, Witcher 3 was riddled with issues on launch as well. It only really gained the polish it did as time went by. Only difference was that Witcher 3 wasn't as hyped up as Cyberpunk was. Witcher 2 did well, but it wasn't a huge hit with the mainstream crowd. Actually pretty par for the course for CD Projekt Red. Cyberpunk was a victim of its own hype. Too much pressure to release when it wasn't ready.
Playing Fallen Order at launch, the vibe of lowered expectations was quite apparent. There were several factors, one of which was that there haven't been a good Star Wars game for a long time (KOTOR 1 and 2, Jedi Academy, Force Unleashed was really good in their time). But well, it was EA. Pretty much all the Stars Wars games in the recent years felt like cash grabs, and had been riddled with micro-transactions. Expected it to be another cash grab, but it wasn't. No DLCs that you need to buy after launch, no mtx. Just the fact the game was actually polished was a really nice surprise. Great sound track. Traversal movements were fluid and intuitive. The shift in the combat mechanics towards the direction of Sekiro, was another plus point for me.
