The SX Tech variant just went up to 181,999. Not sure whats driving the price up. I'm pretty sure its not COE since the normal SX variant is still 166999.

Maybe the price attract you go showroom but SA poon Tech variants model

Can consider CX-8 if willing to pay $180k, which is at $165k as per sgCarMart. I have not test driven CX-8 but have test driven CX-9, which was nice and have good 3rd row space.

COE has gone crazy so suggest to wait if there is no urgency.

165k but the tech quite shabby compared to Kia. I will do a KIA though

I went to see the Outlander. unfortunately the interior cannot match the other models I've seen. so far most impressive is Sorento, but diesel car.

I'm intending to check out the new Peugeot 5008 when it's available.
Did you find out when the present OL model is going to upgrade? Saw online that there is a new model coming out overseas soon. Looks too funky.

I asked the SA if the new face-lift model will be coming any time soon. she said not this year.

but then again, the SA wasn't really helpful when I asked questions. not sure if she was telling me the truth

Eh... must see the size of tank la 😂
But I think with current tech 13-15 km/l is realistic

But Really depends on foot paper is just a guide

found out from the Sorento whatsapp chat group that the increase price of the SX Tech variant is due to stock shortages, not COE :s22:. SX and GT price still the same.

It makes no sense. Uber fleet not being scrapped?

not sure about Uber's fleet. but the increase COE is partly driven by LTA's announcement that there will be a reduced COE quota from Feb to April.

Coe quota have this 10yrs cycle.
Usually between 2011-2013, the quota is the lowest hence the premium is the highest

So 2021-2023 will be the same. Even 2024-2027 premium is high, only 2028-2029 will be the lowest if there r not too much changes

quick update! went to test drive a couple of cars today and below are my personal impressions.

Honda CRV - the entire driving experience was quite bland. nothing exciting it about it. i notice whenever I shift the gear stick, it feels very plasticky.

Peugeot 5008 - had the highest hope for this car. the i-cockpit and new infotainment displays are beautiful. the mood lighting brings a very nice ambience too. BUT everything else feels "basic". there's no plushness to the cabin. I get the impression that Peugeot designed the 3008 and just decided to squeeze in 2 extra seats and make the car longer and... voila, 5008.

Skoda Kodiaq - the most fun I had among all the test drives today. the engine is punchy and toggling between normal and sports mode is quite an experience. once you step on the throttle, you'll feel a kick in acceleration once it hits a specific RPM.

Mazda CX-8 - the entire driving experience feels very premium. Opposite from the 5008. Feels more expensive than it is. the engine also feels like a beast; heavy and grounded..like you can hit the accelerator and the car will just fly. the Heads up display is also quite a novelty, i can see myself enjoying it. only down side is that the infotainment system looks so so so so outdated.

so strangely, it looks like I might be leaning towards the CX-8. totally unexpected

Been driving my Honda Freed hybrid almost 3 years and it's still awesome. 2-3-3 8 seats, room at the back with all the seats up for even a folded stroller, 21-23km/l consumption consistently for an 8 seater, Honda sensing assisted cruise control I use on kpe to drive super relaxing, like a poor man's Autopilot.

Waiting for Tesla to launch Model Y 7 seater here and I'll definitely hit the trigger.

Explored around, really no better alternative space, consumption, price wise. Only comfort Freed loses out massively to my previous Lexus GS450H.

Why I need so many seats? 2 kids and 3rd on the way, considering getting 2nd helper LOL

i am comparing it to the latest model even, same.

I do agree the price point is sweet though. I was driving it for close to 2 years before trading it off. Till now i am still thinking of it.

i always prefer smaller vehicles and the freed hits the right notes for many things.

what are you driving now? and yea, i got it at 96K, now i can trade it in almost 3 years later for 111K.

when i got it, it was mid-transition of some VES changes so it was actually cheaper than Sienta Hybrid, pricing error much hahaha.

but i miss my Lexus GS450H so so much :(
