Again, still very poor take up rate in SG market..

I guess could be down to poor reputation and low consumer confidence.

Problem of the past. No issues now.

this gives me some pause to reconsider the Sorento now. just saw one on the road earlier today. really good looking car.

Yeah... it could be problematic before it settle down in SG.. A few of conti brands are like this in SG. Could not level up with the 3 big conti brands in SG.

Every rides and models do have certain problems. You will be safe if it surfaced during warranty period.

Pros
I like the power but i dont see why i need it in SG. My current ride i already feel very powerful in SG

The ventilated seats

The overall technology. Better than my current ride

The design

The active side mirrors on dashboard (but also con, there is a slight delay upon toggling)

The safety features

Cheap fuel price


Cons
I feel the interior not as nice as my current ride feels premium + cheap combined.

3rd row is really designed for kids. Going in still not so bad coming out is bad. The chair unlike my previous jdm mpv, is not designed smartly for easy entering and exiting.

The mud guard unit in the showroom is on the verge of coming out (very loose)

The unit i test drive doesnt have 360 sensors like my current ride.

Reverse camera looks like in the 90s though SA said higher trim will be better

Price paid for can get GLB AMG line

Fuel consumption not ideal

Touchscreen feels sluggish

I guess you didn't test drive the tech pack? Tech pack trim more premium with the digital dash and 360 cam+sensors. I found 360 cam very high rest and no lag on the infotainment

fwiw se said sx tech pack increase price 5k (so only difference 5k to GT line) as it sold very well and sold out till next shipment

yeah, the Sorento 2021 is really a very nice car. my only hesitation is that it's a diesel car.

and the SX Tech variant is slightly on the expensive side

And heard other markets not getting the hybrid until late in the year so probably 2022 for us to get it here.

So 5008 meant to be coming around mid year? Think palisade also coming around mid year

They never give me a chance to test the SX tech pack (which i really wanted) Just told me "is the same" and want me to fill up the blanks through imagination

So i became not convinced and just move on.

Now COE so high i have way more time to look around until it goes back down

Where got fixed one. COE increase, dealers have to match accordingly also
