can Logitech wireless keyboard (wifi / Bluetooth) works with the AC ryan hd3?

We have not try the device mentioned. But as long as the keyboard does not require any driver, it should work. We tried a lot of Wi-Fi keyboard and mouse, keyboard with touch pad and those are working fine.

Hi,

a few questions:

1. Can i access the files on Playon HD3 remotely if it is connected to my home router? For example using a browser on my laptop while travelling overseas.

2. Is there an android smartphone app and iPad app so I can access the files stored on the device from my mobile devices?

3. Can I transfer files from mobile devices to the unit wirelessly?

4. How do I transfer files from a laptop to the device - via Lan cable or USB?

Thank you.

This is possible, you just have to know whether your router supports this service like DDNS. If you have a two wire router from Singtel sad that it is not supporting this feature.

2. Is there an android smartphone app and iPad app so I can access the files stored on the device from my mobile devices?

For Android yes, like ES file explorer. For iPad, sorry to say that there is none that we know of.

3. Can I transfer files from mobile devices to the unit wirelessly?

This can work but it will be quite slow and not easy unless you are used in doing this. ES file explorer can.
4. How do I transfer files from a laptop to the device - via Lan cable or USB?

Direct connection via USB is the fastest way to transfer files. Just connect the player directly to your PC and it will act as normal external HDD. On network, you can look for network places or via the player IP address.

Hope AC Ryan is able to advise.

I got the HD Mini3 yesterday and I have already upgraded to the latest firmware. But I notice that after a few minutes of watching videos on youtube (via the pre-installed app), the remote control becomes unresponsive.

It happened twice and I had to reboot the device by holding the power button.

Is this a bug?

Hi, you have to press Stop button first and note that in terminating the connection or the stream from the internet media service YouTube will not be instant. A few second is required for it to go back or return to the previous window.

Here's what I did.

When the video was playing, I pressed the "enter" button because I wanted to see the onscreen controls to fast forward the video.

but nothing happened. there was no response.

AC Ryan got so jialat ???? :s11::s11::s11:
I thought AC Ryan is a good brand.
Lucky I saw this thread.
If not, I will buy it.
Now must siam far far.

 Definitely agree to this statement. Now this box is also sitting idle at my place and collecting dust.

Looks like this PlayON!HD3 is junk?

I brought 2 box on AC Ryan Playon PVR during a IT Show 2 years back and they have been collecting dust at home as the bugs are never ending and don't work as it claims. Packaging looks nice and don't function what is the use.

Don't waste time buy AC Ryan box.

Brought a low end android box at the following IT Show and never have any issue at all and using well till today.

i think its unfair to immediately say AC Ryan products are junk.
it really depends on what you want to get out of this media player.

For example, I wanted a player that can stream 1080p movies from my NAS and I also wanted a player that supports multichannel surround sound. In this aspect, the HD mini3 does all this brilliantly.

But if you buy this box expecting it to stream online channels and replace your starhub/miotv service, then of course, it wont deliver.

its a matter of mismatch expectations.

Just a note: Alot of people has been raving about Android boxes. And I must admit I was one of them. But comparing video quality and multichannel support, so far I can only find the PlayOn devices to support this.

I see, for this commands you can just use straight the remote control Play, pause, stop, forward, fforward, reverse and freverse buttons.

It should give you a fast response, I hope you can try it.

Hi there is no QVOD and you cannot download from online using HD3. TV channel mostly broadcast chinese TV programs. Yes streaming from apps like Funshion is working, sometimes the loading is slow if there are server maintenance and traffic.

If you want to have something that can work with your preference, I think an Android box like Veolo2 is the one for you.

Hi, is the wifi xfer speed improved? How fast is the wifi speed now?

I have a mini 2 with wifi dongle, to transfer a 1 gb movie takes 1 hour... less than 1mb/sec.

I used to able just plug in my portable hdd to mini 2 and copy the files over, but recently not sure what went wrong, it will only copied a 2-3 movies instead of the whole list I selected, say 10. When I try to copy again, it will again stop after copying 2-3 movies. Have no idea how to solve this.

I can't pull a lan cable over so the only option I have is wifi or usb hdd. taking the whole mini 2 and plug to my PC, I find it very cumbersome with all the wirings involved...

I saw the article below.
Is that true or just a rumour ? :s11::s11::s11::s11:

AC Ryan, a leading International IT and CE manufacturer with seven international offices across the world has been declared bankrupt. The Rotterdam premises which were home to AC Ryan Europe, covering 30 EU countries, are now available for rent and the company contact phone numbers are all dead. The company was most famous for media players such as the PlayOn HD, HD Mini and HD2.

A former employee of AC Ryan let the cat out of the bag on Tweakers.net, a Dutch tech website. On condition of anonymity he let users of Tweakers.net know that the company was in worse than dire straits, due to taking “commercial wrong decisions”.

agreed, for video quality and especially multichannel support, the PlayOn series was a good choice :)

Seems like no one has this issue like me. How do you all transfer file? Plug the whole AC Ryan box to your pc?
