playing movie files - subtitles

I own 2 units of the Playon 3d series an for the most work fine, but now seeing this new unit thinking of upgrade.

BUT

The one thing that I hate about Playon 3d was that subtitles play by default and every time I play a movie have to go to menu and deactivate. REAL pain in the ass. NO option in menu to change.

Someone said this is setting in MKV file and will be an issue for any media player not just ACRyan. However I never had this issue with Asus media player before moving to Ac Ryan.

If the same issue with this new player I will not buy it.

Can anyone enlighten me ?

So I bot this player today.

Did not expect it to be so different to the Playon HD3 but given its an Android interface I guess I should not be so surprised.

Couple of teething issues, if anybody can help:

1) Using "Video" to playback half SBS 3d mkv, it will not combine the image and when I hit the option button, only 2D is available.... it does not work in the Kodi player either. Common to all my 3d files. Iso seems to work ok.

2) I cannot seem to find a way to shortcut navigation to a directory in my complex file structure, so have to navigate there every time. This was possible on the Playon HD3. Is this possible ?

well seems nobody uses the veolo to playback 3d...

previous model ac ryan had was playon 3D and it was able to combine SBS and TB files with mostly no issues.

the veolo, despite having a 3D chip will not combine these files to the display. At first I tot had faulty unit, so took same file back to shop and tried on their demo unit, same issue. vendor told me what m supposed to do is playback file and use 3D TV to combine.

Well afraid that cannot work with JVC projector can it so this unit no use to me.

I am contemplating in getting one AC Ryan, but I heard many android boxes can only stream up to 720p.

Hey guys, planning to get a media player to replace my Western Digital TV alive Hub. I have a few questions, is Netflix etc pre-installed in the device? Hi, Netlix is not pre installed but you can easily download it from a third party playstore like 1Mobile or just use your web browser search engine and search for Netflix.apk

We can also send the app, just write us an email or call us and let us know the unit serial number

Hi, currently we are continuously checking for this mystery. But we assume that it could be due to the SDK of the High end budget cost chipset.

As Playon series are a full pledge media player device, the chipset supports 3D to 2D convertion. Meaning you can watch any 3D movie using ordinary TV. The Veolo4K does not have this 3D to 2D rendering, but it can support any 3D format its just that you cannot watch 3D on ordinary TV which I think your Projector (Non 3D). You must have a 3D tv/projector for Veolo4K.

Different devices, different functions and specifications. Each model is unique and have advantages to one another.

This was resolved a few months back.
Do you know which firmware you're on? You can check this under Settings>About

hi, i'm having problem playing back 4k files locally on the Veolo 4K (latest v1.8.5 firmware).
using mx player and tried all HW+/HW/SW options (H.265 is checked under HW+ codec settings).
getting either black screen+audio or slow/out of sync video playback+audio.
also tried lots of other video players including SPMC and none of them work.

Video File Specs:
Video: HEVC 3840x2160 59.94fps [V: hevc main, yuv420p, 3840x2160]
Audio: AAC 48000Hz stereo 192kbps [A: aac lc, 48000 Hz, stereo, 192 kb/s]

video file plays smoothly using UHD LG TV itself and also smooth on PC.
please help. thanks.
