there is nothing to be ashamed about :) i know mnay people about 30 are still studying acca part time - many of them are my part time classmates.

you can get a diploma in biz and act upon completing f123

employers are mostly looking for those persuing professional papers/affiate/members.

Thanks Fearah for your encouragement. :) Being a noob here don't mind me asking. Is it have to register online as a ACCA member first before choosing the tuition provider? I think I not in time to join the Jan intake for the school, when can I join if the next intake is in July for early bird? LSBF or Kaplan better?

May I know what is Professional Ethics Module. Saw there is changes for the new Ethics and Professional Skills module and it's 20 hours??? If I joining for the July intake , can I take before the new module start at October 2017?

http://future.accaglobal.com/change...-for-me/ethics-and-professional-skills-module

There's also changes for those who are taking P1 to P3 from 2018. With the introduction of Strategic Business Leader, the current P1 (Governance, Risk and Ethics) and P3*(Business Analysis) will be withdrawn. Will ACCA getting tougher to study?

Yes you can register on acca website to become a member. then you go to the kaplan lsbf classes.
you can join the class midway (f 123) for jan intake as they are quite easy.

i am lsbf student so far the tutors are very experienced. first time passes for all my papers.

acca is indeed getting harder but it is not impossible to pass. just need consistent hardwork

if u have a degree, u should consider going for SQP foundational programme, allowing you to get chartered accountant title. which acca now cannot get already (bonus for previous acca members)

professional ethics is just an online module u have to do. easy and no grading. just need to complete (i havent started mine so i dont know much)

Thanks Fearah for answering my questions :) wow..which papers are you at now? You have taken F1 to F3? Congrats for your passing for all your papers!
Now register like quite expensive for the papers as no early bird discount. Does lsbf has all the notes for each class send to the students? If I join halfway will they send me notes for first day of the lecture class? Is the attendance important for the course? Let say I didn't attend a few classes will the attendance be affected and will they still send me notes for the class I didn't attend?

Are opentuition notes similar to the one provide by the tuition provider in Singapore? Reading the opentuition notes now in case I can't catch up, have not been studying for years.

Sadly to say I don't have a degree, huh?? Does that mean if I can get acca I cannot get chartered accountant title? Like that not promising to study acca now?

I am currently doing F8 F9 P2 while waiting for university (nus biz) to start this august. I started studying since ns started.

Regarding the notes, there will be online class notes sent after every class. Yes you can request all the notes you missed. Opentuition is good too only F4 F6 P2 are not applicable to us if you are taking singapore standard. Its convenient and free.

Attendance not important for your case.

ACCA will not lose its value. Many employer still recognise the rigour. Like I said, CA title is a bonus. There could be new paths for ACCA members to be a CA - still agreeing now.

Hello, how many of the ACCA papers did you complete when you applied for the job position at PWC? How were your grades too? I'm serving NS while doing ACCA now, would complete the F, P1-P3 papers when I ORD next year February. Do you think I would be able to get in the big 4 with results being consistently at >80%? I'm scared that they don't accept people who have yet to complete the ACCA papers.

Hi all! I am going to ORD in May 2017.
I took diploma in accountancy in SP and have exemptions up to F6.
Any recommendation on which school to attend for F7 and above?
Do you all register online at accaglobal/sg/en.html?
I am still quite confused... also looking for notes for F7 and above

Hello all,

May I ask if it is important to obtain the BSc (Hons) degree in Applied Accounting offered by ACCA?
I am offered exemption for Audit and Assurance and hence I am not entitle to obtain the degree offered if I do not forfeit the exemption.
Anyone please advice. TIA

if you got a basic degree, you don't really need this degree

you should take acca. fia is more basic and less recognised. meanwhile u should consider sqp foundational programme.

Hi,

I beg to disagree. It caters to a different need. It is surely basic, but not necessarily less "recognised". I would describe it as "less visible" compared with the LCCI which is more staple or mainstream.

As an employer myself, experience comes before qualifications, at least in terms of practical accounting work. Unless one is an audit partner, then the qualifications (as in CA) is a requirement for the job.
