From what I understand, existing students who go through the ICPAS Plus route can gain ACCA & ICPAS membership after they have completed ACCA.

This means that you can still apply for ICPAS associate membership even if you complete ACCA after Sep 2012, provided you go through this route.

That's my take anyway. I think you can call up ACCA/ICPAS to check?

I see. Thanks! : ) what do we have to do? log in to myACCA to opt for ICPAS plus route is it?

Hi guys,

I am rather new to ACCA, so hoping those who had been through can provide me with some valuable advice.

Generally, i am planning to take the paper F4-F7 this coming jan intake
Any good lecturer that you guys can recommend?
I am considering between kaplan or SAA...
PLus, i heard you need to register as an ACCA member first before you can register for class...is it true? and how long it take for them to process the adminstrative stuff?

thanks lot:D

Hi there! Welcome on board to the ACCA family : )

Other papers not very sure but I would strongly recommend these 2lecturers:

Saminathan S/O Malayandi (LSBF)
ACCA Papers: F5, F7, F9, P2, P4, P5

Andy Tan (Kaplan)
ACCA Papers: F1,P1,P3

Good luck!! : )

Kaplan - F9 - Kaplan

Just finished my revision class F9 by Andrew Pang. Not my cup of tea. He is rather soft spoken and monotonous. I dragged to go for the classes even though it was only 3 days.

Did a search on google out of curiousity and found that he was teaching in KL and ICPAS before he join Kaplan. Claimed that he has many, many years of experience. A bit disappointed. Kaplan normally has many "high standard" lecturers, so different from my CAT lecturers in ICPAS.

Just imagine that the revision lecturer uses different abbreviation from the Kaplan Complete Text and you got to get used to it within 3 days when exam is round the corner. He "may" have ported wholesale over his previous materials from other schools or textbook.

He claimed that he can spot 90% of the questions for F9. Only those who had attended his revision can testify... Maybe he is really good at that, I don't doubt his confidence about himself. For those weak in mathematics and prefers step-by-step guidance and patience from lecturer, Andrew may not be suitable as your lecturer coz he gives me a feeling that he just want to teach and get his pay. He scrolled through his written notes rather fast like speaking to himself, no regards to the audience.

My advise... if you are fast and self learner.. probably good in maths, Andrew may be suitable for you. For those who needs to struggle a little to understand, he is definitely not the best lecturer.

Make your choice... Hope my view with give you a better picture on looking for a suitable F9 lectuer. Enjoy studying and good luck for the exams!

Hi there! I symphatise with you for that. I do not know this lecturer even I've been with Kaplan for 2 semesters, up till now. Maybe he isn't that fantastic thus I never heard about him. No worry, just practise lots of questions before the exams, at the end of the day, it is ourselves that will help us pass our exams, the lecturers can only help.

Would like to share what my Kaplan lecturer (Andy Tan) reminded us yesterday, "Impossible means I'm Possible" and we only need 50marks to pass, so don't be too stressed.

Brothers and sisters, we have less than a month left for our preparations, don't feel despair, let's all do it together!

Hi people,

If I have no accounting background. Is the 18/20 sessions ( apart from own revision) provided by tuition centre enough to go for exam?

Another thing I saw a lot post discussing about which lecturers is good. I am going to kaplan to take and F2 there are 2 lecturers Mary Tan and Suzannah Tan. Who is good?

Thank guys!

i need some advice. i tried practicing F8 using that GTG and i feel so demoralized as in, its like their info is so cramp. I'm attending Mr Chee's revision class and is it sufficient if I just practice the questions given by him?

London School of business & finance

this is a new school, anyone attend classes there yet?
I am interested in this school coz of the location is near my office.

lhqiu12> I don't like Ian Lim's teaching, not in details and kinda rush through the class.

papaya00> Mary Tan is good. I pass my CAT thanks to her. Before Kaplan she was in SAA.
