this is a new school, anyone attend classes there yet?
I am interested in this school coz of the location is near my office.

lhqiu12> I don't like Ian Lim's teaching, not in details and kinda rush through the class.

papaya00> Mary Tan is good. I pass my CAT thanks to her. Before Kaplan she was in SAA.

Depending on what papers are you taking..Sami is there..so lecture quality wise is still the same. classrooms environment is alright also. just that the space in between tables are a bit tight..quite troublesome to move in and out if you sit in the middle.

Can anyone recommend which lecturers to take for the above 2 papers?? Will be in the part time class for these 2 papers..

And ya the recent hoo-ha abt the Joint scheme btw acca n icpas..
I registered b4 31 Dec 2011...Frm the website it state tat I will have option to choose ICPAS plus route or ACCA route...Which is better?

if i were to register within the next 2 weeks, will i be eligible for the ICPAS plus route? cos i understand that i must apply before 1st january 2012 as a new student to gain eligibility. and the fact that it requires a few weeks for the application to be processed.

I need to ask a rather stupid question which has been up my mind, troubling for a while.

As I know, we are not supposed to use correction tape/fluid in the ACCA exam, how do you people overcome that problem?

I tend to make mistakes and then correct here and correct there using correction tape. I took P1 last semester, i disfigured my script quite a bit by cancelling (I really had a hard time not using correction tape) here and there.

But now P3 has calculations added in, might need to prepare cost/benefits statement neatly. I don't know how to survive not using correction tape. Very jia lat right?

And what about those papers with calculations? How do you people handle that?

The reason i asked is because i did not take the ACCA exams for quite a long while, last time we can used correction fluid. That's why i find it so tough to adapt.

Do you think i should go and buy those pen with ink which can erase? Can be used or not?

I know my question sounds lame and I find myself really stupid asking such question but bo-bian I really need an advice.

just cancel it with one line straight across. its okay.. i have cancellations everywhere..calculations just have working sheet in the next page or somewhere else then actual answer you just write it in..

Hmm I was told that we can use correction tapes. =S

Hi naifah, I also was shocked when told that we cannot use. Sami was the one who told us last semseter, he said the reason being the scripts are scanned, words won't appear properly if we use correction tape/fluid. I was shocked to hear that too.

Then when I sat for P1 in June this year, before the exam started, I observed students sitting near me, no one has correction tape/fluid on their tables, so i decided better not use.

I attended Shermeen Tan (Kaplan) class last semester, I paid attention in class (hehee),practised those questions in Kaplan revision kit, I think i did about 15 to 20 questions.

Don't worry, P1 is pretty str. forward, questions seem to repeat, so long as you practise PYQ, should be able to pass.

Just remember, don't audit the answers hor...please practise then check the answers.

hi,

try doing past year papers, from 2007 onwards.. if u have more time, can try more papers. didnt use exam kit at all.. try read up on P1 technical articles also

Besides yvonne which I think she will commence her lesson at March, and guessing that a full 20 lessons will not be given.

No leh, I only got 56 marks, marginally passed. I tried about 15 questions from exam kit, I did not do any PYQ besides exam kit because it already contains PYQ, so I deemed that it is the same right? lol : ) But i paid a great deal of attention in her class and it helped a lot because the question we did on Kolberg's theory ( I think I spelt wrongly) came out in case study!! I hated that theory so I skipped during my revision but because I remember what Shermeen said so it helped! lol

You were in Andy's Thursday morning class also right? Me too! Andy is such a great teacher!

Wow so we have been classmates for 2 terms yet we have not "met"? lol

Hmm...where do you usually sit during Shermeen's class, left or right? in front or at the back or middle row? : )
