you need to build up your microbiome. slowly increase your fruits and vegetable intake. It is not overnight thing, give yourself a month. don't suddenly hoot fibre, your microbiome cannot handle. you need to build them up. eat all sorts of fruits and veges, have a big variety.

Eat prunes, seaweed (not the individually wrapped snack type).

Start making 1 meal a week mostly vegetables, slowly increase to at least 2 to 3 times a week.

Scientists already showed evidence of the link between glucosamine and accelerated progression of Alzheimer's Disease. Still want take it?
Study links joint pain supplement to accelerating dementia - UF Health https://share.google/HXIdnJYi0AjOz0gv7

Causation vs. Association

• Researchers emphasize that medical record and observational studies show a correlation, not direct causation.
• People taking glucosamine might have underlying health conditions, chronic pain, or systemic inflammation that independently influence dementia progression.
• Controlled clinical trials in humans have not yet been performed to confirm whether glucosamine directly harms the brain.

Multiple peer-reviewed studies available via PubMed and PubMed Central (PMC) confirm that glucosamine crosses the blood-brain barrier (BBB).
Research has demonstrated this phenomenon through diverse methodologies, looking at both its diagnostic applications and its direct neurobiological effects.

Key Evidence & Mechanisms

• In Vivo Imaging (CEST MRI): A study published in PMC10716494 tracked glucosamine uptake in real-time using chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) MRI. Following intravenous administration in mice, glucosamine directly crossed the BBB, accumulating rapidly within the cortex, hippocampus, and thalamus, where it was metabolized into lactic acid, glutamic acid, and UDP-GlcNAc.
• The Hexosamine Biosynthesis Pathway: Once inside the brain, glucosamine enters metabolic pathways that attach complex sugar structures to proteins, a process known as O-GlcNAcylation.

This article published in Nature showed the ability of glucosamine to cross Blood brain barrier (BBB) and can cause attachment of sugar molecules to brain proteins via O-linked glycosylation and this is how Glucosamine can alter brain function.

Abstract
The utility of chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) MRI for monitoring the uptake of glucosamine (GlcN), a safe dietary supplement, has been previously demonstrated in detecting breast cancer in both murine and human subjects. Here, we studied and characterized the detectability of GlcN uptake and metabolism in the brain. Following intravenous GlcN administration in mice, CEST brain signals calculated by magnetization transfer ratio asymmetry (MTRasym) analysis, were significantly elevated, mainly in the cortex, hippocampus, and thalamus. The in vivo contrast remained stable during 40 min of examination, which can be attributed to GlcN uptake and its metabolic products accumulation as confirmed using 13C NMR spectroscopic studies of brain extracts. A Lorentzian multi-pool fitting analysis revealed an increase in the hydroxyl, amide, and relayed nuclear Overhauser effect (rNOE) signal components after GlcN treatment. With its ability to cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB), the GlcN CEST technique has the potential to serve as a metabolic biomarker for the diagnosis and monitoring various brain disorders.

The indications are that if you are at risk of alzheimers glucosamine *may* accelerate the decline.

There is no evidence that Glucosamine *causes* Alzheimers. Of course with all things untreatable, erring on the side of caution is preferable.
