Advice on Penang

Anyone has experienced with renting car in penang? Tried to find online, but couldn't find much information. I'm comparing between kasina and hertz. Going there this weekend for 3d2n

Also..how's the road condition like in penang? Congested?

Big Thumb car rental is good. Great service. Can deliver and return car to airport. Just watch out for motorbikes.

Standard charge is $320 rm for 8 hours, any extend will have addition charge. Not all driver have a car for 5 pax.

I would pick Gurney Drive. If you stay within walking distance of the hawker centre, you can manage the evening activities without requiring the hired driver. One Mansion is not in either area.

Georgetown, most of the attractions in that area can be done on foot.

Sunway hotel nearby got many food choices, near Komtar and few shopping malls.

I agree with you. They have allowed many of the hawker centres to expand so just about any one can open a stall and standards plunged.

Will never return to Gurney Drive F C. Stall holders not happy if sitting at their tables and never order from them. Actually alot of tourist places in Penang are like that but Gurney Drive really stands out. Something like our old days Newton.
