Nope they are Zalmans. All the other fans are transparent CMs but they are heavier than the Zalmans - not as good for tying to the chasis with cable ties (although I think still doable).

the CM fans you're using, are they like $10+/- per piece? just a passing thought, as the fans that most here would probably recommend are those >$20...

Yeah lo.. Am still unwilling to spend over $10 for a piece of fan. When I really gear up to play BF4/Titanfall then I will commit to buying 2 SP102 ($40). Now, with just Dota 2 & at the most, BF3 with my specs, normal $10 sickleflow fans are enough.

Can't remember how much, they're the same model as the stock fans that came with the Cosmos S case. Anyway I can't choose also, I bought them when I was working overseas and the shops only stocks CMs and Zalmans.

My aluminium lian li casing start to corrode after 2 years. Then I switch to bd28.

Huh your gpu can put outside your casing? What cable connector did you get?

I plan to buy msi 760 tf gaming oc 4gb.

According to internet temp benchmark, full load in aircon was 65 degrees
Are you sure its corroded? Its really pretty impossible for a lian li case to "corrode" in 2 years time even with SG's humidity.

I'm using the PC-A05, one running with the system I'm using now for about a year+ and the other dismantled and left in the open. No signs of corrosion, not even on the exposed case. The reason why aluminium is so popular in the first place is their natural anti-corrosion properties thanks to the oxidation of aluminium which actually protects it, and if you scratch that layer it actually "heals" itself and reforms the layer. Good luck if you scratch a SECC steel case though :D

I was using my entire system without a case few months ago when I was modding my PC-A05 to become reverse ATX.

Right now its like this temporarily.

In dota 2 peaks at about 74 degree celcius with mx4 thermal paste and freshly cleaned heatsink.

myst is a hot card.. like literally. it only has a single fan to cool what is essentially a watered down 7950 which runs hot. the sapphire implementation of tahiti LE is better with a dual fan design and i read before the temps are 5-10deg less on same benchmarks than the myst.

i wouldnt go for open air cooling tho.. the heat shroud itself acts as a heat sink so if u put in a case with high static pressure and airflow can bring down temps. i install 2 140mm fan on the top of my case and my myst temps went down 5 deg across all games. now it hover at 80-82 deg for intensive games like bf, previously 85-87. dota 2 probably 70s (cos i dont hear the fan speed ramping up, didnt bother to verify)
It is indeed hot, initially I felt like they skimped on the fan too but after using it for about a year or more now, its really unbeatable value with very decent temps to noise ratio. On auto mode I never ever hear the fan.

I'm personally not as ki siao about chasing every degree celcius and all the positive pressure/static pressure shenanigans, really find it a huge waste of time spending so much trouble just to figure out something as simple as airflow within a chassis.

I think you misunderstood what I meant about the running without case, I meant literally entire PC without case not graphic card without shroud :s13:
I believe someone has tried removing the shroud and planting two 120mm fans on it and the results were miserable :s13:

I only have two 120mm intakes in my case running at lowest possible speeds, and a 140mm directly above the GPU as exhaust, temps are excellent for everything with and without aircon.

This is with aircon currently on playing dota 2, without aircon just add a bit accordingly to CPU and GPU. HDD's stay around the same. Reverse ATX FTW :vijayadmin:

After years of messing around with airflow and fan filters.
I end up just opening the sides of my casing and removing all filters.

In the end just do this quarterly.

Your intake fans are af or sp?. Where exactly above your gpu card you place the fan at? Blowing the heatsink or out?

i think its your mx4... with the stock thermal paste, the fans will ramp up to 56% during intensive gaming which is audible.

your fan on top should blow air in so the the gpu has fresh supply of air

My atx casing no have fresh air in except from the front. Do I need to put 2 120mm fan for airflow in at the basement? Doing that will make the modular wires trapping the airflow though...

Yes, even put one at the bottom is good for your GPU.
This is my bottom fan.

chain is powered by molex but then there is a pwn linked in the daisy

Plugged into the mb fan header n tried using aisuite.. not working.

Oh you use cable ties to hold psu end cables, like a side curve.

Anyways, my bd28 casing has a total of 10 fan connectors, in which chassis, power, cpu fans are already in use so that's left Four Pin Peripheral Connector from corsair rm650.

2 fans top : intake with what type? Static pressure or airflow?

1fan btm : what type for in take?

1 fan front : intake with what type?

The only exhaust is at the rear, set to 1k rpm

Front 2 use Corsair SP120, Bottom can use any fan you deem good-looking, Top use any AF fans ie. AF120.. Read same as top. Design is important so if you mix and match fans, may not look good.

I decided to buy all af fans 120mm x4 and 180mm x1

SP120 for the front fans because the front space is obstructed by all the HDDs and the cages right? So you need pressure to force the air through. If front is AirFlow, then the fresh air coming in will come in, hit the cages and swirl around in that area, resulting in minimal fresh air front the front. But 1 thing for sure, your HDDs and SSDs will be very cool! :s13:

The front panel space is not obstructed at all. The btm front blow straight through 1cm thickness ssd and the top front blow open air space. So no obstruction.
