Not sure if is due to app or due to the purifier itself. Hope current new app version will resolve this. I not sure. Previously when I had Gen2, yes it does auto switched to auto mode after sometime. (At least for my case). Gen1 does not. My current Pro also does not (but I didn’t set to max speed). 2S I not sure cos I don’t have.

Xiaomi Auto mode leaves air unsafe

I'm reading this article that xiaomi air purifier will revert back to auto mode and render the air purifier useless as its efficient is gone.
https://smartairfilters.com/en/blog/xiaomi-auto-mode-leaves-air-unsafe-86-hours/

Any comment on this?
Maybe i should buy gen1 instead to avoid the auto mode.

I don’t have gen2. Now left only pro.

Just bought a xiaomi gen2 and is waiting for delivery.. some questions hope someone can enlighten me. Thanks and sorry for the noob questions....

1) do you guys on it 24/7? If not how often should i on it??

Now no. During haze period yes. Now only switched on at night when go to bed.

2)how often the filter needs to be changed and any specific sites to buy the filter?

There’s filter indicator lifespan from the app. But I don’t follow that. Usually when it drops to around 30-40%, I will go change.

3) will aircon and the air purifier affect each other's function in anyway?

I don’t think so bah (as in the negative sense)

4) my room collects dust quite easily.. will the air purifier help to reduce it.

If windows still remains open, will still be dusty. Will still see the room collects dust easily. Is best not to assume purifier alone will keep dust away. My house still dusty despite having purifiers. Hahaha. I had used other brands before too.

Still need frequent vacuum. Cleaning the house. (At least for my case) ;)

For living hall, I’m using the normal blue (since I still have spare-bought previously) or the enhanced green one. For bedroom I’m using the purple anti bacterial one. (I’m assuming you are referring to Xiaomi purifiers).

Anyone got xiaomi AP 2S too? Unable to connect through WiFi using Mi Home App. Long press 5 seconds for both button, it restart itself only.
Hmm same problem tried multiple times only somehow it auto detect the ap once. But failed to connect. (I presume cause it's export version and not supposed to be sold globally) Switched to china server and it connected seamlessly. Seems they have some region lock or something and maybe cause Singapore don't sell the 2s model yet. I have no such problem with export version of Xiaomi robot vacuum. So was a bit surprised.

Is one of the recommendations previously here. I used to have it too. I operate it at high speed 24 x 7 with no issue. Not noisy (at least for me - acceptable even at high speed). Power consumption is not high. Is a good air purifier. But the filter is getting more expensive in Qoo10 (assuming you intend to get it from Qoo10 korea sellers in the future). Now I not sure. Didn’t go see anymore.

Alternatively is to purchase from Taobao or compatible type. Search the list. Previously they have posted the link.

I have switched to Xiaomi purifiers (now using only Pro) cos Xiaomi filters are cheaper even if purchase in Qoo10. And also I like the mobile app wifi thing (but need to set in China region - for my case)

But some do not like to have wifi purifiers especially in the bedroom. AX40 is good especially if do not want to have wifi thing. :)

is samsung ax40 recommended? thinking of getting from qoo10

The one I have bought last time, now still $3xx. Don’t think I want to recommend that because I saw other sellers @ $2xx in Qoo10. Do a search. Not sure about them tho’ cos didn’t buy stuff from them before.

Take a look at the reviews or pm seller see if will reply or not. Usually those that doesn’t reply, I don’t buy from them especially expensive items.

Any recommended sellers from q10 or Lazada? Looking at purchasing the Xiaomi pro

I set mine at 23 instead of 25. Strong enough to clean n maintain while keeping the noise level acceptable/low. I usually see the displayed PM2.5 readings to gauge which level is sufficient while balancing with the “noise” :)

I don’t operate at auto. Even my bedroom ones I also set to manual.

Not sure if anyone replied. But I manage to pair it with my Mi Home App using the below fix.

https://c.mi.com/thread-853476-1-0.html

Had the same issue. Got it imported from China to Europe. It could not connect if region Europe was chosen. Tried all other regions as well, no luck except below.
The only way it worked was:
1. Had to choose region Mainland China
2. Choose language Chinese
3. Add device manually (choosing Purifier 2S from the device list).

After it was added, language can be changed back to English. But if region is changed to Europe afterwards, paired purifier dissapears. Note, that device name still apears in Chinese although App language is set back to English

At first it didnt pair for me, the key is to change to Chinese language, then it works flawlessly.

yup same even singapore region doesnt work with export set. only will pair if it is set to mainland china. i suspect it is because singapore has not started selling this model because my xiaomi robot vacuum v1 pairs with singapore region even though export set

So usually what PM2.5 readings are u guys getting within your home before u start the AP? Mine is usually 30/40 plus even though NEA's public readings are 10-20 range? :s8: WHO guideline is 25 for 24hr period and 10 for annual mean.

I will rev up my Xiaomi AP until PM2.5 reading drops to about 10, then turn down the speed to acceptable noise level, before I go to sleep. :D

25++-30+ ish. But like the first week I use was like around 18 then can stop to single digit. Now recently can't go to single digit unless got air con on also. I think recently the air not as good I guess.

I'm using Gen2 and will turn up the fan speed. In addition to aircon, I hv ceiling & wall fan to help circulate the air. Normally I can get down to 10 after 20-40min. At higher speeds the Gen2 is rather noisy, but I will turn down the speed after I hit 10.
