Air purifier? - Part 2

Hi,

Am looking for 1 purifier + humidifier in my bed room since my wife just pregnant.

Been looking to the recommendations but still need some advice from you.

1. XiaoMi 2- Is it too loud for bed room? Minus is without humidifier function.

2. Sharp- Which model is better? Can't really get the price from internet except Taobao, which model is different from SG.

3. Samsung model? Can't get details from internet also, discontinued model?

Samsung AX40 sometimes has timesales, it went as low as 279 with 1 free replacement filter (1 filter is already in the box). But now is 329. 279 is very wu hua and i'd recommend that.

I dont think a humidifier is needed in your case.

For preggy wife and subsequent infant/baby for the next few years for use during sleeping....i would recommend the AX40 since it's a given that you will need > 5 ACH performance. But current price is high, unfortunately. See if you can wait. Replacement filter can use RMB25 "commoner" HEPA which gives you 19W and 240 m3/hr CADR performance, if you are thinking about long term.

The XM2 in medium speed oughta work in a BTO normal bedroom even for infant. But choose this only if you dig the XM2 form factor.

Is still worth it. Of course previously sale price at $315 even lagi better.

Shd have.....the taobao lisitings would show the app interface.

On the appliance, it toggles through Auto, Sleep, High.

Edit - the last setting is actually 最爱, same as what's on the appliance。A saved favourite of sort. Not sure how to toggle Medium speed or Jet mode.

The main thing is how do we grab the 50 dollar coupon easily. I not qoo10 pro...so i will leave that question open.

Seems like there are some online complaints abt quirks of the XM air purifier + Sharp IR LED sensor.

There were some discussions about this by mindgamey and me. Actually the M8088A and Sharp sensor lower end resolution is also lacking a bit, though it is still usable...posted a video on that. (Will post again tonight, on mobile now)

But note, other bros like Ximple also has DIY meters utilizing the Sharp IR LED sensor and they work much better, as tested during the initial part of the 2015 haze season when there were not so many meters floating around.

Of coz, no issue if you do not look at the readings or use Auto speed.

从12月9日早上开始，两条关于小米空气净化器2的微博在网络上闹得沸沸扬扬，一条是打假第一人王海发布的不拆小米空气净化器2的滤芯包装就能让红灯变绿灯（点击查看王海的微博），其二是被一众大V纷纷转发的，来自韩路创办的5X兴趣社区的一个帖子《小米净化器2，疑似净化效果造假》，主要说的是小米空气净化器2自身的PM2.5检测数据与实际出入巨大。一时间大家都对小米空气净化器2的净化效果存疑，那么下面我们来亲自检测一下，到底是怎么样的


测试条件：
我们找来了一台全新的小米空气净化器2，PM2.5检测仪使用的是ChinaWay的CW-HAT200型，也是我们平常做空气净化器评测的设备，价格在3XXX元。测试在一个15平米的卧室内进行，并且将检测仪的采样口放在小米空气净化器2采样口的旁边，尽量减少采样空气的差异，对比不同条件下小米空气净化器2自带PM2.5检测的数值和检测仪检测的数值差异，并且看看小米空气净化器到底有没有效果。（大家可以注意看图片上手机APP显示的净化器档位、时间，以及检测仪上显示的时间）


问题一：小米空气净化器2滤芯不拆封也能“净化”？
首先，我们刚刚拆封的这台小米空气净化器2，滤芯是没有塑料封装的，之前我们做评测的一台也是同样情况。为了更彻底的模拟滤芯不拆封没有净化效果的情况，我们干脆将滤芯取出，让小米空气净化器空转，看看情况怎样。

在屋内吸了半支烟，PM2.5直接飙升至700μg/m3以上。小米智能家庭APP的PM2.5显示峰值为600，再高也显示不上去了，这个等级已经够得上严重污染了。

↑这时我将小米空气净化器2开到最高档，记住这时净化器里是没有滤芯的哦！奇迹发生了，APP端显示的数值瞬间降到了56，而实际的PM2.5浓度还在722μg/m3。在自动档时，也会发生同样的现象

但此时我如果将净化器切回睡眠档位，PM2.5浓度显示瞬间又爆表了，说明净化效果是没有的，小米空气净化器2本身的检测也没有默认为净化有效，指示灯依然是红色。


因此我可以推断出一个结论：
小米空气净化器2自身的PM2.5浓度显示，可能根据风扇风速的高低做了优化，在转速高的时候，会快速降低APP的浓度数值显示，以达到让用户觉得净化非常快速有效的错觉。但此时实际检测的PM2.5依然爆表（睡眠模式下我们姑且认为它显示的是实际数据），自动档时风扇转速也没有降低，因此判断净化器仍在依靠后台的实际数据在全力运转降低PM2.5。


问题二：小米空气净化器2到底能不能净化空气？
我们把滤芯重新安装上重复测试，将小米空气净化器2放在自动模式运行，风速高低净化效率高低全靠其自行判断。

刚开始时，两者都检测PM2.5爆表，小米净化器立刻全速运转，APP显示数值急剧下降，当PM2.5检测仪完成60s的采样后，APP显示已经降到127（良），但检测仪显示为707μg/m3

4分钟后，APP显示的数值为166（差），反而比刚才要高，这时检测仪显示数值为602μg/m3。此过程小米空气净化器2的风扇依然全速运转，没有降速现象

几分钟后继续测量，APP显示101（良），检测仪显示降到396μg/m3，此时风扇运转速度略降，但依然是比较高速的运转。

测量一下出风口的PM2.5浓度，为44μg/m3，说明机器本身是有净化效果的。

继续测量，APP显示62，空气质量已达到优的级别，但检测仪显示依然有239μg/m3，这时风扇的工作转速明显降低，达到不干扰人正常生活的程度

3分钟后，APP显示数值几乎没有变化，但检测仪显示的数据降到了149μg/m3

4分钟后，APP显示数据依然无变化，仪器测试降到87μg/m3

最终在16分钟的时候，APP和检测仪显示达到一致，都降到了50μg/m3以下，空气质量已属于优的水平。此时小米空气净化器2的风扇转速已经很低，我又继续观察了10几分钟，PM2.5浓度在下降到31以后便不再降低，两者显示也一直是同步的，小米空气净化器维持室内空气质量的能力是合格的。


所以通过这次小测试我得出的结论是：
1、小米空气净化器2的APP端显示数值是经过优化的，大家可以注意，我在上面的文字中，对APP显示的数字后面没有加单位，而仪器测试的则是有μg/m3的单位，因为APP显示本身就是没有单位的，我们不知道其数值是不是等同于μg/m3。
2、小米空气净化器2的APP显示数值优化可能与风扇转速有关。
3、不放滤芯或滤芯未拆包装的情况下，无净化效果是肯定的，小米净化器依然全速运转，企图净化空气，但APP显示数值确实会下降，这点是有蒙蔽用户的现象。
4、小米空气净化器2是有净化效果的，只不过实际测试数值与APP显示数值不同步而已。最终16分钟将一个15㎡的房间从爆表降低到优等空气质量（自动档模式下，非最高档），我认为也是可以接受的表现，并且可以保持这个空气质量。
5、小米APP上显示50以下的数值时，与实际的μg/m3基本同步，我认为可信。50之上的数值，看看就好别往心里去。
那么为什么会这样呢？一个净化器，其实滤芯和风扇的成本并非很高，但传感器则一般都是净化器厂商掌握不了的核心技术，小米净化器这个价格，自然不会用上很好的传感器，要不然那些专业的PM2.5检测仪也不会动辄几千块了。其实通过我们之前的评测和使用基本可以得出结论，空气净化器上自带的PM2.5检测，都或多或少不准，不说别的，将检测点放在机器上，就不是最科学的位置，这也是为什么我们做评测会采用净化和检测位置分离的原因了。不过这次的事情也提醒了我们，之后做净化器的评测内容，AUTO档位下净化效率的高低，以及自带检测系统是否准确，也是应当关注的重点。
一句话，小米空气净化器2，能净化空气，效率还行，只是APP的数值不可全信。当然，我也很想听听小米官方怎么说

With that price you can buy 3 sets of normal Ax40!

But I dont know how good is that model, but you can get cheap humidifer at around $30/- from Qoo10 (without air level detection function etc, just pure water mist producer)

So total could be less that $400/- include shipping if you stay in SG.
