Ok, finally I think Amazon refreshed their 30" x 60" 3M filtrete.

Now is FSSG with usd125!! (Last time wasn't eligible)
Throw it into your next purchase from Amazon!

30" x 60", or 76cm x 152cm.
Red colour grade, good enough, see my tests above.

The small one is very ex. I used to buy that one at usd4.95 nia (together with 3M 9210 20pcs box at 4 to 7 dollars) . For the same size as that one, this bigger one is usd3.50 only.

Go to that link "4 new", below that "See more product details". You can add to cart with Amazon LLC. It's currently 17.57usd.

Currently OOS, but no worries your card won't be charged until it ships. It will ship eventually, just wait patiently. (meanwhile can even add items to that unshipped portion via Amazon CS live chat, lagi better)

3M Filtrete is sourced from Amazon during end 2013 (after PSI 401 haze)

Note, it's covering about 70% of the aircon filter only, vs 100% for the above.

I did a quick test with the Sharp A28 with Fellowes HEPA (H13).

Starting 30 ug/m3, 10 mins = 4 ug/m3.

So can say that the aircon 3M Filtrete is about half of the Sharp. Can put it as about 80 m3/hr clean air airflow for the 3M Filtrete with a totally clean and powerful blowing FCU.

If your house has got 4 x FCUs, that'd be 320 m3/hr.

But remember, due to its electrostatic naure, the efficiency drops once the initial few tens of hours of usage are passed. HEPA does not drop. So normal use, 3 weeks = max.
Hazy days, a few days nia, dense haze probably 24hrs max.

Bro WussRedXLi, I tried your method of jetting the AC fins with the Panasonic oral irrigator. Fuwah can really shine after that. I used a tiny pail as the reservoir instead to prolong the time between refills. Only downside is need to use the other hand to hold the pail.
Got the kinda feeling like those bangla using a small water jet cleaning a whole big car park. :s13:

Glad it works for you.

Actually i changed pattern liao, i put 2 big tubs beneathe the FCU and 3 rags ard them. Can spray happily, even the fan also can spray as it just drips into the tub.
Cleaning the fan is just as important as cleaning the metal fins.

The aircon foam helps a lot also.

Hot weather, need to DIY clean often.

Yep, I always wash the fan. Same method of foam cleaner, let it sit awhile then water. Double layer of old towels right beneath the FCU works fine for me. Spray bottle pressure no fight with irrigator.

ALWW the seller, tell him that you want the 纯白色HEPA网,不要那个黑色的活性碳复合网。

Go search for others on taobao, they have it as well.

Anyone can recommend a good air purifier which can be bought locally? Thanks!

Whats your usage? :

(1) For your personal use or for kids, elderly?
(2) Size of the room? HDB bedroom or masterbedroom or living room?
(3) Going to be used daily?

There is a slight learning curve but you'd manage. Can just pay by credit card, better. Use a card so that you can reach customer service easily (I use Citibank premiermiles, got concierge that I can get through within 2 mins). Just in a rare case that the transaction on the web failed/hanged and you wanna confirm with the CC coy that it did not go through.

Finally, do use 4PX to forward your packages from 4PX Shenzhen warehouse to SIN. Best, local leg they use speedpost.

You can ask further questions on the taobao thread, lots of experts there to help you.

personal use as i am allergic to dustmites. to be used daily. can recommend for both bedroom and living room? thought of buying one to put in office as well. most importantly the filters can be changed with ease.
