Shipping charges by 4PX is RMB191 to be exact. Package weighs in a little over 7KG!

Fwah....first buyer! Thanks for trying. I'd love to try, but no space to keep. :( It's for emergency situations, living rooms at my place or my mum's (for kids during daytime, can't expect them to be couped up in MBR for 12 hrs a day....hell on earth!!)

There is absolutely no expiry date for HEPA filters. So pls, no jokes by others about wasting money. :)

Instead I got those circular filter (RMB48, free ship to 4PX), Japan Home sells the Powerpac fans for SGD16.90 at my place so no need to ship from taobao. Filtration airflow is low, but it'd do coz I got 2 filters. And 10X easier to store. :)

So grand total is about SGD99 to your home.

So far the AX40 is quiet. Loudest setting is = my honeywell at low setting lol.
However i genuinely feel it doesn't move as much air as my honeywell 17000.
Well i'm sure the CADR doesn't lie but the honeywell definitely pushes in and out more air ...

Evaluate a bit more then maybe buy a 2nd set.

I'll post some pics and comments once i have received it. The price is too good to resist though i'll be keeping my fingers crossed to see what kind of performance it can offer. :s22:

Meanwhile, Fedex just delivered a Samsung AX40 to me :)

Aesthetics wise, its not a bad looking piece. Finishing is decent and the controls (soft touch) are nicely laid out. What i really like is the low noise levels and low power consumption. Its a sharp contrast to my VERY OLD Delonghi DAP130. At any speed higher than low, the noise effectively drowns out the TV. In fact, the Delonghi at low speed is even louder than the Samsung at max speed! Factor in a 185W power consumption, i dont think anyone would like to run it for long hours. :(

Could be coz the AX40 distributes the airflow across the whole of its output area? Which is 30cm by 10cm.

My Sharp KC-840 outputs slightly higher velocity air, but more towards the left side of it. The ride side drops noticeably. Due to the design of the inside air guides or something I guess.

But soon, i'd have the ability to compare the KC-840 vs the AX40, with my PM2.5 monitor. Can compare the rate of drop in the same room, starting from the same moderately high ug/m^3 value. The NAP501 is at my mum's house though. =:p

NB. The KC-840 is H10 stock filter, but I am using the A50's H13 filter coz both are the same size.

IT's a tiong product. As of now, the best guess I can give you is that it's HEPA10. It's v difficult to say, am sure you'd have heard of "bait n switch" that the USA folks always describe ah tiong products.

If you want a True HEP

Dun underestimate Tiong Pdt. If you have heard PM's joke, you will know tiong must have expertise on air filtration.

The challenge is finding genuine ones vs fakes... Coz u know, even eggs they also fake.

I have been reading the 3M masks. Better don't touch them. They include the "authentic box" with 3M 3D security stickers etc..... However the box is opened and 3D sticker torn, though the contents inside looks legit (with that what...LA authentic label).

I don't mind a torn box (sole purpose is to ensure a legit product), but definitely not an opened torn box. For Amazon, I have several opened boxes as well, but with the 9210s individually packed, I have no issue.

Only way to confirm if it works is use a particle monitor to test.

Can check out the UVEX masks. I think much less chance of cheonging and the product looks good (it's not v cheap to cheong a pdt to a v good looking standard), coz on taobao literally nobody buys them (compared to several thousands of orders for 3M).

UVEX 2110 is the model that you'd want to buy. EU's FFP-1 standard (at least 80% filtration @ 0.3 vs 95%@0.3 for N95 or FFP-2) + exhaust valve.
So good for elderly, pregnant ladies and normal folks prolonged use during moderate haze periods.

Surgical masks also filters decently. Issue is that it does not really touch much particulates below 2.5 microns. And as tested and posted before, the majority of haze particles is below 1 microns, actually quite a fair bit below 0.3 microns.

Air purifier need to buy true HEPA type.

Other types are not as effective.

Not say totally true lah, but also not totally untrue.

I'd further refine that statement to say that buying HEPA 10, 11, 12 or HEPA-13 (ie True HEPA) is best for our usage here in Singapore to combat haze.

Eg. Sharp A80 is H10. It pumps a heck lot of air @ 480 m3/h. Compared to a H13 True HEPA, that'd be 408m3/h @ 0.3 microns. (less 15%)

H10 still works great for particles smaller than 0.3 microns down to 0.01-0.1 microns. That is how HEPA works.

Google hardwarezone Amazon water purifier on google.

That said, the South Korean air purification and water purification market is multi billion dollar industry.

Even in China, the penetration is much higher. Just googled, it's usd14.6 billion industry and growing 36% no thanks to its smog problem.

UPS my question for WRX bro!

TKIA!

$65-75 not very ex lah, per year.

But if you don't mind to DIY a bit, get from Amazon but that needs usd125 for free ship. It's Fellowes HF-230 and Vornado MD-1.

If really don't mind and solely buy HEPA, get from taobao and forward via 4PX. Now is quite ok, can even use eNETS so literally no security risk.

Google how to buy from taobao, it's not difficult.
