For A28, if its place against a wall, should i reverse the facing side so that air intake will be front facing? Or it will work fine if its close to the wall?

See post #2554. 2 videos there.

It will work as per original design, no worries.

I reversed it coz I put it right up against the wall. But the wire is a bit unsightly... :o

Can someone make a cumulative chart for the psi?

I think the harmful impact from the haze is by large accumlative.

It's not easy to do a cumulative chart. But i have done this.

Thresholds to note for
(1) WHO recommended guideline = 25ug/m3 24-hr mean (PSI 65)
(2) USA EPA Unhealthy level for Sensitive Groups = 35 ug/m3 (AQI 100/PSI 78

Number of days that exceeded WHO limit = 27 - 33 days
Number of days that were rated as Unhealthy for Sensitive Group (USA EPA) = 18 days

Haze went up north. Selangor and Melaka regions getting smoked.

Note, that is PM10.

Seems like the worst days 20, 21, 22 = Wed/Thur/Friday, the PM2.5 concentration ranged from 181 to 310 ug/m3.

PSI 401 that time, we had a PM2.5 concentration of approx 295 ug/m3.

Perhaps then PM10 played a bigger role then? (note that PM10 cannot drift far, PM2.5 can drift farther)

Compare our 90 ug/m3 for last nite and 131 ug/m3 on Monday. (PM2.5)

Concentrations were approx. 2 to 3X higher in 2013 compared to now.

However, 2014 is longer in duration.

Novita 101 is effective against PM2.5, it has a HEPA 11 filter.

Airvax too low airflow to be of any use. Too ex.

PS.

>>The next-generation filter from AIRVAX differs from existing filters
A HEPA filter and electric negative ion filter are used in existing air purifiers, but the HEPA filter is not effective in collecting dust under 0.3 microns and the electric negative ion filter produces ozone, which causes vomiting, dizziness, atopy and respiratory organ disease.

The above statement in bold is wrong. HEPA has a 0.3 microns MPPS or Maximum Penetrating Particle Size. Below this 0.3 microns size, efficiency usually rises.

On taobao sites selling HEPA and ULPA/Ultra Low Particulate Air filters that are of Cleanroom grade (ie you can run a DOP/PAO leak test on it and mechanically they do hold up well during transportation due to aluminium frames etc), they do state efficiencies at 0.1 microns etc.

0.1 microns and those ultrafine particle sizes are captured by the HEPA fibres with a process called DIFFUSION.

3. Diffusion – particles that are very small (less than 0.1 microns), are delayed and impeded in their path through the filter and will not follow the air’s streamlined path because they will collide with the gas molecules. This behavior is the same to Brownian motion. The delayed path raises the possibility of the particle to be captured by either interception or inertial impaction. Diffusion mechanism, at lower air flow speed, is dominant.

It would not be easy to put a bag of AC for the A28. You may however get those AC mesh filter.

But if you don't buy regularly from Amazon so that you can't take advantage of the usd125 free shipping, then also kang kor lah.

Thanks! I do buy stuff from Amazon every now and then, so can slot in these few items. That's why wanted to know how to put that DIY AC on aircon or a28. :D

PSI 124 PM10 = 202 ug/m3 of PM10 particles. According to the PM10 calculator function on airgov.now

It's not hazardous lah. If talking about 3-hourly or 24-hourly exposure for the general population, it's just Unhealthy for a total of approx. 10 days.

For infants, toddlers, elderly > 60 yrs old, pregnant ladies lung/heart/asthma/bronchitis/just recovered from pneumonia folks, people whose white blood count is > 30 previously within 1 week, better take note. The number of Unhealhtly Days for them since Aug 21 is probably > 20 days.

If coy don't cover much of your medical benefit (or any at all), for them the amount of medical expenses is no joke.
I've got a somewhat weak colleague, this time round already 3 X GP already + countless headaches and skin irritation.

The thing is this - once start it's not easy to stop. You'll never know where's the threshold and it varies over time.

Personally for me, it's light headachesness (Monday, where I was outside for 4hrs in the morning to early afternoon) and headaches generally for the milder days. If no air purifier, my condition most probably would have deteriorated coz "it started outside"

Actually why does haze cause headaches?

Is it triggered by sinus?
