Replacement filter available from Taobao?

Replacement filter can get from them. Or customise the size from TB.
This one has too low an airflow. It's just nice in high speed for small BTO bedroom (5 ACH) but it'd be too noisy. It is small though. But if you want it to be small, go for the Sharp A28.

If you wanna get that, you might as well get this one. It's reviewed in the Chinese youtube video that I posted 1-3 pages earlier. 319 m3/hr measured.

At the highest speed setting, it still sounds quieter than my Novita NAP501. Only downside is this one doesn't have a timer so much switch off manually. To those who are interested, Daiso has been pricing it at $245 the past few days. Cheaper than the $269 I paid so now is a good time to grab one. Really value for money. HN in Funan was selling the AX041 for $399! I also ordered an extra set of Samsung hepa filter@$78. Me not the DIY type.�

Don't use timer lah. I mentioned before, even if it's not for haze but for preventing allergies, you need it to be running at a decent airflow speed.

Power consumption is amongst the lowest out there, while at a great airflow. It's very efficient.

If one is still bothered by the very slight fan noise, just put some tissue into your ears during sleep time.

- Popular AP recommended: Samsung AX40/41.
- DIY filters: Good enough.
- Laser Particle Counter: The ones that were used in some of the tests here with screenshots (with Insan technology PCB) is no longer on sale. Next best is SamoAir or the compact version (two tier). I definitely like the display of the insan technology better.

Is this correct?

I'd guess still ard the same time but most likely 6 months confirm must change while if 12hrs you still can push to 9 months type. But that means a lot of aircon money as well bro.

It's about the smell of the PM trapped inside. Most apparent when the machine first starts up and you smell at the outlet. Even with the AC, it won't be able to do much (the AC should expire in 3 mths anyway).

Yes. Don't waste money on the laser particle counter, unless you REALLY have a legit use for it.

Eg elderly parents > 65 yrs old (lagi got grandma > 90 yrs old)

Newborn esp pre-term/slight health issues. Very important point here. To them, in a relative sense PSI 100 reading is like PSI 200 to them (or more). Would you as a healthy adult like to be exposed to PSI 200 for a good few days?

Those with heart, lung and stroke risk issues. Very important point here.

Asthmatic kids/teens, coz even a short 1 minute spike can trigger/worsen asthma symptoms, like what happened yesterday morning in my South area in which my meter registered a bried spike to 212 ug/m3 while the baseline was approx. 150 ug/m3 and visibility dropped to 1.5km - 2km (NEA value is usually a fair bit lower, but that's ok as you can setup a relative value mapping).

You are sensitive, already experiencing any of the following : dry eyes, itchy skin, sore throat, running nose, headache

Allergic rhinitis

Pregnant. Fetus is growing the fastest in this stage of his/her whole lifespan, increase in size and weight is phenomenal. Cell multiplication etc. PM0.5 passes with ease into the blood stream. Etc.... Wanna risk it?

You can use without AC, but with all the doors/windows closed, you're gonna find it pretty stuffy (due to high humidity) after a while even with the ceiling fan on full blast.

Yea like what Chuanz said. You can use your ceiling fans as well.

The technically correct answer should be close all the windows and doors for that room. Be it living room, bedroom, master bedroom.

Leave a bit of a 5cm gap for slight ventilation is alright. But the gap is either the door or window. Not door AND window gap of 5cm. The idea is not to have a strong steady stream of airflow from the outside get into the house/room and after that ventilate out.

It's like your air conditioning, do you leave the door or window open when it's switched on?

So yea, it's going to get warm if you do not have air conditioning.

Well if it's an infant then it's justifiable. After having more experience in using it, it's not that accurate in absolute numbers but it's extremely sensitive and repeatable in telling you the spot air quality at your place.

You can click the link in my sig for NEA 1-hr figures as well. But sometimes it lags a wee as well.

If you can afford it, it's a good buy. Besides, it'd be useful for the caregiver as well, I think you know the feeling, they simply cannot afford to be sick as well besides the baby.

This year El Nino is also very strong. ie very dry

Thinking of getting the Samsung AX40H5000GMD from g-market, then saw this Whirlpool, selling $329 at Courts (Also with NEA reviews, seems good). So want to know which is better or more suitable to use.
