'true hepa' is a marketing term

a filter tested for HEPA standard, meaning they must be able to stop 0.3 at 99.97%

and den they are classified under their retention.
class 10 / h10 = stops 85%
class 13 / h13 = stops 99.95%

for my knowledge, true hepa filter meaning it is real hepa filter that can capture 99.97% of airborne particles that have a size of 0.3 µm.

Yes, don't be swayed by the marketing terms, even @ 85%, as long as the airflow is high enough, your AP CAN and WILL remove PM effectively.

Assuming the typical target of 5 ACH (Air-Change-per-Hour):
For 85%:
after 1 air change = 15%
after 2 air changes = 2.25%
after 3 air changes = 0.34%
after 4 air changes = 0.05%
after 5 air changes = ~0%

For 99.95%:
after 1 air change = 0.05%
after 2 air changes = ~0%
after 3 air changes = ~0%
after 4 air changes = ~0%
after 5 air changes = ~0%

some people get confused about 'true hepa' with other marketing terms like HD-Ready and Full-HD, True-HD, Ultra-HD or "正宗"

Under EN1822 Class 10,11,12 (E10,E11,E12) is under "EPA", Class 13,14 is under "HEPA" and Class 15,16,17 is under ULPA.

Now looks like some places have classified Class 10,11,12 as H10,H11,H12 and call them HEPA...

Can Google EN1822 to check.

by then, qoo10 order would have arrived liao.

im sure some here have bought locally like Sharp, can either read their post or wait for someone to reply u.

EPA 10 - EPA 12: Efficiency Particulate Air Filters
HEPA 13 - HEPA 14: High Efficiency Particulate Air Filters
ULPA 15 - ULPA 17: Ultra Low Penetration Air Filters

but for E10 - E12, they are still tested under HEPA standards, as i was saying, the efficiency is lower compared to H13 onwards but doesn't mean they can't filter out PM0.3

some consumers are under the impression that if u call it EPA or not 'True HEPA' it means it cant do anything more than a regular dust cover.

clean room not yet.
but for new house owners, esp those BTO in non matured area (next few yrs all sorts of construction going on) or at least the first few mths where ur surrounding blocks are all still under construction and reno, an AP helps for those who have sensitive nose or respiratory issues.

Just for reference, and if anybody else wondering when getting your spanking new AX40 and found that everything in the documentation is in Korean.

Buttons from left to right:
First four is touch buttons: On/off; Speed selection; VirusDoctor On/off (single touch) + filter change reset (hold a few secs); Child lock (hold a few secs)
Last four is speed indicator: Auto; High; Low; Sleep

Lights on the On/off touch button also functions as air quality indicator: blue, green, yellow, red (something like that)

VirusDoctor is Samsung's fancy name for ionizer function, default is OFF.

Just full blast all the way, can't hear a single thing

Those Sharp A40 A50 A80 D40 D50 are H13.

Haze particles for SEA biomass haze size PM distribution peaks at 0.5 to 0.6 microns.

Piece of cake for H10. Easily 90% at the output. Haze CADR will be bagus.

Same for N95. They found out can filter like 99%. You do not need N99 or N100.

Dont worry about such masturbation specs. Worry about using it ASAP.

Found it finally available (both chat to be able to customised the filter) for my Sharp air purifer...

Ordered 2 pieces. At the price if I ordered local I can get 2 pieces... lol

Thus, I may as well get 2 pieces 1 go...

With the increased in frequencies and duration I switching on... Better get a spare one as current ones dont even know if it can last through the haze...

Just found out that the prices for local Sharp are stated incorrectly in email vs by their facebook. Either that or the prices went up extra $30 while email is $30 cheaper...

guessed the staff when replying through email type in the numbers incorrectly as they are close
