Yup those type. I dunno how they work since they don't seems to have any fliter. But I saw a video that it's able to clean the smoke of cigarettes. Good point is they can use essential oil to smell good haha

Don't be fool by their advertising video.

-The product is tested on a small enclosed area. Will it actually work for your room?

The concept of this product is to spin water at high speed causing the airborne particles to be pushed toward the side and into the water.

Like u said, this product is good for
1) aroma diffuser replacement
2) cheap gift for friends... Some buy this for their colleague working in the office.

me also feel suay.
ordered 2 days ago Qoo10 AX40, now still in transit.
then next day, haze gone. Aiks...
Use for next year loh... we must really thank indo for giving us 11 months without haze. :s13:

Does anyone knows if the samsung ax40 that Daiso on qoo10 sells comes with air filter inside? I ordered a machine at $254 and didn't choose any filter thinking that it was additional filter, tried msging the seller but seems like we have problem communicating. Anyone who bought from him can advise? Thank you!

How so? I thought the DIY ones could be at least as powerful depending on the fan speed and filter effectiveness?

The Cannon is ok. The box fan a bit weak. Here is the RAW data for a 15sqm room, something like the new BTO MBR.
I can tell you, the Samsung AX40 drops the levels many times faster than this.

This is the box fan data from tumblr particlecounting website that they done. It takes 1hr to halve the concentration.
Usually it takes about 4 to 6 mins to halve the concentration for our HDB room depending on size for the Samsung AX40., which has a 323m3/hr airflow spec.

What i am saying directly relates to CADR.

But someone did a DIY with a box fan, a DIY cardboard plenum and 2pcs of TB HEPA, that one is probably ok.

Already comes with filter.

All air purifiers in the market, from no name ones to super branded ones, all come with filter.

It's a mystery to me how the air is cleaned with the water. And the scent is released from the same said water? Isn't it dirty already

I really cant believe how myopic/ultra short term thinking some people are. In office/lift....overheard that they are saying that haze is over and gonna cancel the AP orders on the waiting list
Agree with you. Glad i bought 2 AP last yr which came in handy before the Samsung AX40 was delivered. Now the whole house has clean air. The haze problem is not going to be solved anytime soon. Last few days saw so many ppl scrambling for n95 masks and air purifiers because they didn't prepare for worst case scenario. Not saying we should live like doomsday preppers but I think we should all try to take a more long term approach in handling the seasonal haze.

Just got my Honeywell 18200 from http://www.allergy.com.sg/

their office at Henderson industrial park block 203 wing B.

Price wise was a few dollars more ex than Best Denki but they have stock now and I had a FOC gift that made the purchase worthwhile. Not sure if they still have free gift though...

Yes, dirty then change loh...i only scare of buying fake oil essence that could damage the health.

I mean like they suck the dirty stuff to the water and then produce the scent from the water. Is that like releasing the dirty stuff back to the air?

Get from reputable shop lor. The pure essential seems to be certified. Also not sure whether breathing in scented air is good for health.

i agreed with this...we are consider lucky it is seasonal..not 365 like china. This is why i like xiaomi ap also. Ppl complain about the noise...but it is the most efficiency and cost saving ap in china.

Sigh I bought 3M filtrete for my ac, must not have installed properly cos my ac started to leak  so now I've removed the filtrete

Yesterday injured my back today still climb up and down removing and putting back the filter. Will go back to just using my AP. Waiting on Samsung AX40 which is now on board SQ15 to arrive

Discussed before fww times times....

Xiaomi CADR tested in Guangzhou lab 395 m3/hr.
Samsung AX40 slightly more ex in China, but over here its same price as Xiaomi. 323m3/h CADR as tested in China....if you remove the AC layer then it is 345m3/h. It's not a very fair comparison, but you get the idea.
One is 27 watts (measured by China lab), the other is 75 watts iirc

Using 12hrs a day.....the wattage difference in electrical bills can get you a FOC Samsung AX40 in 4.9 years.

The loudness difference is phenomenal. Every doubling of source is +3dB. > 32 units of AX40 gunning in high = 1pc xiaomi....at the very least.

Unfirtunately, I can't recommend such products.

Pls note the disclaimer that i always often give while using the 3M filtrete. Aircon FCU must be clean.
