Depends on material ... some white plastic are more resistant to UV light than others. White painted metal won't yellow.

Try to avoid exposing your PC case to sunlight/UV light, don't smoke near your PC as well.

I'm using a 2990wx with 128GB of memory split to 80GB ramdisk 48GB system memory as a 24/7 automated code build system.

Don't need any stinking PCIe lanes when I can use RAM directly for storage and it's running headless with no GPUs.

Can the consumer version of Ryzen run that much RAM? Also I believe TR supports quad channel memory which is also a differentiating factor.

I suspect this was tested on Cinebench, which usually favors more cores. Will be interested to see if AMD have improved in areas where they lose out to Intel previously with this IPC uplift from the Ryzen 2xxx series.

ryzen 5 3600 @4.05ghz 2666 ram single core is only 5% slower than 9700k and 7% slower than 9900k. and the intel parts are all running at 4.7-4.9 ghz.

multiple core again @4.05ghz 2666 ram is already tied with 9700k which has 8 cores, and is 21% faster than a 5ghz 9600k.

the 3600's value will be unbeatable though. and next time when the 4400g comes out with the ipc and clock uplift + navi apu...

Supposed they also tested 9900k 5GHz all cores. Otherwise the score won't be on par.
Meaning the IPC at same clock will be higher with Ryzen 300p series

It's because last time the FX series is not competitive ma. So everyone used to Intel pattern already. Now back in game and everyone feel too good to be true.
Same like k8 era.

I was actually looking for a new PC during the recent PC Show and I only recently read about the Ryzen 3000 series with PCIe 4.0 support coming in July (I am not really a techy guy so I don't keep up to date with the latest tech news so it was lucky I read about this and it has motivated me to do more research).

It has really made me delay my purchase and wait until July to see the real world testing of the new AMD CPU's. If they are as good as it seems I will definitely switch from Intel to AMD.

The support of PCIe 4.0 by AMD really has leap frogged Intel too. There is no news from Intel about future PCIe 4.0 support so far. Does Intel have some tricks up their sleeves?

Eventually they will have Pcie 4.0 but not seen on any roadmap so far
