Anybody around have experience with buying mobo through Amazon.com and suay suay need to RMA? I am considering to get parts off Amazon.com because of the poor local selection. So will appreciate some insight.

Me bought from newegg several times before.

to me, buying oversea = no warranty.

I get from oversea because local not available. I don't know how to RMA but use still spoil then change lor.

It would be interesting to see where this would lead to.
Wait for the details release from AMD...context switching is a major breakthrough when you need a total flexible gpgpu part...

R9 285 is like half prelude of Tonga. Seems promising but not bringing much bang for buck. I think because 280 and 280x still around now. Hope can see more value soon.

any news of AMD going for DDR4? that would really benefit their GPGPU(HSA) technology

No news until 2015 when the new micro-architecture developed by Jim Keller comes out. From now until then will most probably only be AMD Radeon based news, I guess.

Planning an X99 build for next year, awaiting news of the R9 390X......from what I've heard, it's one hella powerhouse! Rumor's going around the the R9 380X is going to equal or beat a GTX980.....so, bring it on AMD!

What I need more at home is power efficiency, especially idle power consumption. The difference in the power bill may not be a lot, but every bit of reduction in the amount of heat dumped into my room is a good thing. This means that AMD CPUs are not a good choice.

Maybe the new FX-8370E with a 95w TDP will help?

Bad feeling that the 300x series will be similar to their 200x series.

280X = rebrand, only 290X is somewhat new.

I get better single thread performance and lower TDP with a 2nd hand Sandy Bridge @ 32nm and 3 year old technology. Strategy games are almost all bottlenecked by the main thread.

Don't think so, they are going witb 20nm architecture plus HBM. That's why I am willing to wait for the 390X to complete my X99 build.

I personally doubt so. Tonga already show face in R9 285. 300 series should be based about Tonga features since 200 was rebranded Tahiti.
