Amex Pay (QR code)

I have a suspicion Amex Pay is riding on some other local maybe Nets payment network as part of their backend processing? Not very sure if a lot of users complain and Amex Pay "own" the payment process they should be quick to rectify it. The time when it can't is they depend on some other parties and the fault is on the other side then it is hard to rectify. How I know is I am software developer so a lot of my services I built are calling some other third party services and if that side got problem there is nothing much I can do on my end except to "chase" them.

Yes they’re, I paid with Amex Pay and the amount appeared on the hawker’s phones nets app or the receipt gets printed out on their NETS terminals.

Also need to ensure 4G/5G on your phone has no issues.

Sadly not applicable for Visa or Mastercard card as far as I know. Only Amexpay works.

Once in a while I still kana. Then try the second or third time ok already. For 1.5% cashback vs other QR payment modes, I shall live with it.

Amex pay no longer work for Android devices.. known issue no eta to fix.. ever since I replaced my card I can't reactivate it.. I'm thinking of cancelling the card as I only use it for amex pay and amex offers. Now I got no use for it.

No miles for simplygo. I rather use other cards for transport if I need.

i think you need to register the card to the app before you can use amex qr and it's tied to device. you can't just open the amex pay and scan.

ShopBack Pay is a way of earning miles at QR-only merchants
With the demise of Amex Pay, it might still be possible to earn miles at QR code-only merchants, provided they accept alternatives like FavePay, Shopback Pay, and Changi Pay. However, odds are that if a merchant accepts any of these payment methods, it likely accepts direct card payments too.

Otherwise, you’re out of luck. I don’t know how many times I have to answer this question, but no, you can’t earn miles on PayNow transactions.
