Talking about 2DIN? Pioneer has just announced new range for FY13 and they posted photos on their fb page https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.550500594976332.143095.211024802257248&type=1

the AVH-X5550bt looks good? but probably expensive but got other models up there you might wanna consider for different budget

Bro, this is not the place to promote products. Be subtle if you want to promote products.

BTW, this is a thread to share ICE setup not promote products.

Got off my @$$ and found these pics.

This was my 2008 setup:

Graphic done by my installer, this image is still available in their site gallery. My car was a '07 though not a '08.

A bigger shot of the boot setup. My sub was an IDMax.

Shot of the A-pillars without the speaker grills. Morel Supremo Piccolo + CDM88.

Morel is my first set of speakers. I'm using the old Tempo 6.5 two way component and they were good until one of the mid bass gave up. Then no $$$ to go for Elate series so end up with an entry German Maestro :o.

Mid-2009 setup - Sold off the Piccolo + Elate as well as the W202E, replaced with these:

Hybrid Audio Legatia L1 Pro tweeter + L3 midrange, on redone A-pillars, Version 1. Some people say 1 look at the A-pillars and they already know who made them.

A-pillars, Version 2 - Replaced the L1 Pro in end-Dec 2009 or early Jan 2010 with the L1 Pro SE, 1st Edition limited edition hand-matched pair, set 21 of 150.

L6 midbass. In case anyone was wondering why I didn't go with the L3SE and L6SE, that's because in 2009 the SEs were not created yet.

Bought the Alpine W520E from a HK-based dealer, because the HK set can display Chinese characters. Interestingly it is a HK "local set" - there was a warranty card from the HK branch of Wo Kee Hong (which is the local distributor of Alpine here).

Pretty much everything in the above pics have been sold except for the bits and pieces like the capacitor, power distributor, and other wu-eh-boh-eh stuff.

My next setup has been planned for 2 years, but I kept putting off getting it done. Maybe next year :s13:

But over these 2 years I have been collecting the parts for this setup, here's a sneak preview:

My 4-channel amp. I also have a matching 2-channel one that I've not taken pics of ;)

Subwoofer for the next setup - Despite the box, it's actually brand new never used before.

The tweeters. Yeap, these are Z ;)

People in the industry say that a certain dealer best known for their house-brand soundproofing material and poor workmanship, buried the name of Morel by giving away the Tempo free with their soundproofing or some other offer like that.

Today I don't think people actually use Morels anymore.

Morel SUPREMO FTW! ;)
Unfortunately, Morels are also extremely power-hungry speakers. Cars with Supremos or Elates that have won competitions are always those who'd competed in the above-600W or unlimited categories. You need to feed the tweeters and midrange 100W or more apiece and midbass 200W apiece for them to sound ... right :(

EPIC NECRO!

Okay, seriously. Rather than to start a new thread on it 2 1/2 years later, I figured might as well use this existing thread. I'm curious if anyone else in here took the plunge and got into higher-end ICE ... do share your setup if you did :o

Also, now that SGSoundSystem has been reduced to a mere Facebook page for people to post stuff for sale and the SGCarAudio forums are is no longer around, does anyone know where the local ICE enthusiast community hangs out these days?

with the HU inbuilt together with the aircon console nowadays, its quite hard to change to aftermarket HU.

Only way to do it is change speakers only. =\

Unfortunately,I have to stop upgrading my ICE after I have moved into my own flat. Requires alot of $$$ to upgrade but essential household needs come first. Luckily, I bought a mediocre Marantz 5.1 HTS setup which is good enough for me to occasionally enjoy my CDs when I'm freer as well. :)

Running on focal 3 Way be utopia way active with genesis amps and helix processor , swap my mid with Dynaudio mids to provide more punch as I not not running on sub. However my car is under constant sunlight and I blew my BE tweeter and it cost 1.2k to replace, decided not to take any more risk opt for the cheaper focal kelvar tweets, so far so good. Blew my cash on Home audio focal 1027 BE and was amazed the by the difference home and car audio can sound and literally stop spending more on ICE to get perfection.
