Interestingly found this thread :ROFLMAO:

A little background, Been running a mostly 2nd hand, mix and matched 2 way active setup and managed to get by all these years - and of course enjoying it.

Yes - 2nd hand technically - you CAN get by with 2-3K budget - but you'll need to know your components well and whether they suit your taste.

Choice/genre of music you listen to also plays a part.

Currently my more than > 8 years pioneer HU P80RS II is failing :(, and am on the lookout for a DMH series or AVH-Z flip model.

If given a choice, i'll just stick back with a simple old HU like the one i'm using, but everyone's moved on.

Then there's the headache of processor now - is the H800 still a good choice? All the offerings from Audison/Mosconi etc. adds to the confusion. Curious how I can have a Pioneer HU paired with a H800.

No comment about Vifa and Eton.

Scanspeak depends ... my knowledge is from the time of the Revelators (with the ring radiator tweeters), so depends on what you want to know, and more importantly, what kind of music you listen to.

Jazz, classical, vocals.
No boom boom stuff, no plans for subs

Dun need tweeters. Just 6.5" woofers.

If you don’t think you have a need for tweeters, you don’t need all these brands  Just get a cheap set of coaxial speakers settle.

Already have a 2" tweeter le.
Just want to find a pair of woofer only.
Direct replacement (in size) over stock 6x9 woofer.

Srsly. The moment you say 6 x 9, just get a cheap set of coaxials, anything more is a waste of everybody’s time.
