anyone using evpad? for the past 10 days, my parents complain they can no longer watch tv channels on it. i checked and it seems the server is down or something. as im not familiar with all these gadgets, could some kind souls recommend a good alternative to evpad? evpad is driving my parents crazy.

Same! At first they said it’s gonna take a few days then it’s been almost a month and still it gets from bad to worse. Now even VOD videos are lagging like mad. Had wanted to use this to replace my Singtel tv but now I’m tempted to go back to Singtel and get the Jingxuan package for my parents. $30-40 a month for fuss free viewing for my parents sounds like stress free for me.
I also tried going back to Sim Lim to look for the seller and ask what‘s going on, but it looks like they cannot be found anywhere anymore. Customer service WhatsApp is useless as well, either ignoring me or just giving me the standard message that appears on the tv screen. Feels like they zao lo liao…

PS: just went to sim lim to check one of their affiliated shops just confirmed the boxes got swept and confiscated cos illegal. So no more hardware support anyway. GG.

Why not just subscribe to IPTV?
It's cheap and no need headache.
For those drama can just join a Plex server..

you can find several in the playstore. however, i don't recommend using browser on android tv.

the reasons: most websites are designed for desktop browsers or mobile browsers. you will get bad experience using browsers on android tv, even if th3 browser is remote friend.

you can install vod apps on android tv. don't have to find on the web. one app will give you a few hundred thousand drama / movies. these apps are remote friendly. 90 years old can learn to use easily.

i recently got a google chromecast tv for a friend what i encounter during the setup of the device.
as it is setting up the device is simple and direct. plugin the hdmi and u are ready to go like setting up
a new phone. in otherword, if you are thinking of getting a plug and play device google tv is perfect with
those standard netflix disney and amazon and a few other google tv standard.
for my friend, he want some chinese vod and most are not found on google playstore.
that being the case, you will need to sideload the apk into the google tv before u can get it installed.
in order to installed non google supported apk, you will need to allow under setting installed from unknown source.
however, google tv dont come with usb nor any other input, so it is almost impossible to installed third parties apk. however, i can only tell you that i did mange to installed the chinese VOD and many other apk and they run well.
by the way i have use teamviewer support but it doesnt work.
so my advice is that if you are just happy with the standard google supported application then google tv is good
but if you are not tech savy and wanted more than just what google provide then i suggest u look for something else

that will depend. android box is good if u just wanted to watch iptv or vod and u dont do much interaction.
like playing game and so on. though android allow you to play game too.
mini pc with android built in is good which i am using for my work communication such as whatsapp, email, remote access support and so on and off work i can watch iptv, vod and play some simple games.
however, should i need to do heavy processing such coding and so on Windows is the better choice, in that case i have a duo boot mini pc into Windows OS.
