hi,

you can try download Airties app from iOS/Google. Run the app and if you are able to view and access your wifi mesh, this meant your wifi mesh is updated with latest firmware. The Airties app will not work if your wifi mesh is still on older firmware.

Hope this helps.

Are you using a singtel router?

If yes, you can call 1688 to have it pushed to your devices remotely..

Hi renfred89,

Thank you for the heads up on the alternate method of calling 1688. Yes, I am using a Singtel issued Router. I tried calling them twice. Once was for the previous firmware update. It is not the fault of the CSO, but she was clueless of what I was talking about. She asked where did I hear of this firmware update. I mentioned that it was through this forum. She insisted that it cannot be done. So I had to rely on this forum for help and Singtel did forward me the link. Very appreciative of it. I just called a second time and the same situation occurred. They insist that the firmware upgrade is something that cannot be done for the wifi mesh as the router is the one that is used for the main wifi distribution and the mesh is technically considered the extenders.

Singtel has responded to me but due to my low post count, I am not able to reply back with my credentials for their backend team to do the remote update.

Singtel, please help. Thank you. Haha.

Hi Singtel,

Thank you for responding to my request through PM. I am not able to respond to you in PM as I have not reached my 10 required post count. If possible do send me the link. If not, I have to post more posts to hit the target. Haha. Thank you.

Hi M@gicUs3r,

We hear you!

Kindly increase your post count to reply to our private message. You wouldn't want to share your personal details here.

Just to check - did you ask for Technical HelpDesk during the call with 1688?

Hi Singtel,

Yes, I understand regarding the sharing of personal details. When I called 1688 just now, there was a large call volume. I was given an SMS to do the live chat online with the chat agent. The CSO who attended to me was checking with the senior support team and in the end it was not resolved and the team guaranteed me that there is no such thing as the firmware update through the router. They can only update my router firmware and only the vendors can do their firmware update.

Hmm... from what I know, SingTel issued equipments are all supported remotely. Their router, set top boxes and mesh are all upgraded remotely. I got my singtel router firmware upgraded remotely overnight.. same for my older set top box as well, it will prompt for an update and just need consent to it..

I understand and I totally agree with you on the remote update part. Just that sometimes there may be a few departments involved and there may be miscommunication or lack of communication. We just have to find alternatives and have some patience. Thank you, Renfred.
