Anybody using Singtel Mesh?

Need your advice. I'm thinking of either getting Singtel Mesh or normal 1gbps and using another router as AP in masterbed room. Please correct me if i'm wrong as i quite noob (Sorry

So for singtel mesh setup.
Router/modem place it in the DB Box (Off Wireless, use as switch).
1.LAN Connect the router to mesh 1 in the living room.
2.LAN Connect the router to mesh 2 in the masterbed room

OR

1. LAN connect Router as AP in living room
2. LAN Connect ROuter as AP in masterbed room

first setup will be better in view of single SSID and roaming ability..

m1 Linksys Velop VS Singtel Mesh? Any experience in both?

Currently register interest in singtel 1gbps with mesh that comes with free 8 months, quite attractive

Had used airties mesh before and now using velop. I personally prefer velop cos of the higher speed and system reliability.

That being said, the current airties mesh could have improved over the months and that both airties and velop could be similar in performance and features too..

Ditch the airties and using samsung connect now.. so far so good except samsung connect is 2x2..

If can, i would use airties if not for my smart home stuff.

That being said, anyone wanna buy? Else it's an white elephant sitting at home. Lol

Interested in learning how the airties mesh works with Singtel TV, tried looking for documentation but can't find any. Any kind soul can help explain a bit?

Currently on SH cable in a 2 storey house. Just signed up for Singtel fibre and thinking of installing FTP on 2nd floor for wired LAN to PC and that's where my family has most of our wifi devices. Rather than routing a cable all the way from 2nd floor to ground floor for our TV, how can I set up a mesh for TV downstairs? Thanks in advance

depending if they give u ONT or ONR.

if ONT

TP -> ONT -> Singtel Router.

behind Singtel router got 4 lan port.

-> connect to pc 1
-> connect to Mesh 1
-> connect to mio tv
-> connect to any other device u need.


mesh 2(can connect via cable to Singtel router, can dun need) - connect to another pc.

simple as that.

after which logged onto the default gateway of 192.168.1.254 for your Singtel router to disable wifi. use the wifi from the mesh


this is my house setup as i using ONT instead of ONR.

Hi,

Hope the experts in this forum are able to help.

I have a large area to cover and am using 2 pairs of air ties mesh units together with a wireless router (Asus AC68) and 2 other wireless access points (older Asus routers re-purposed as wireless access points) - all using the same SSID.

I set up the first airties unit with a lan connection and get very good wireless speed on this unit. However, I cannot get an Internet connection if I connect any of the other 3 air ties units to the lan. I only get an Internet connection on these other 3 units via the wlan and the speeds are much lower than on the first unit.

Is there some way I can connect the other 3 air ties units via the lan and get similar wireless speeds as on the first air ties unit?

Appreciate any assistance you can provide.

If it is what I think it means, I am trying to set up airties on wired backhaul i.e. connect airties unit to a lan socket in a room (connected via a switch to the router in the DB room). Does that make more sense? Sorry if I am confusing you.

Many thanks Renfred89. I think that is the problem. I downloaded the Android App "AirTies WiFi" and it says I am connected to the Guest Network and the app cannot be used in Guest Network! How do I get Singtel to push down the firmware which supports the wired backhaul to me?

I called 1688. The guy I spoke with said that wired back haul is possible only for the master node and that if I have 2 pairs of airties it means that I can have wired back haul for a maximum of two masters if I set it up as 2 masters with a slave each! Does that make any sense? It did not to me.

Anyways, he said that he will check again and call me back!

What the person said isn’t wrong, just perhaps singtel has decided not to distribute the ap mode enabled firmware to their discretion, maybe it’s unstable or what.

In the mean time, drop singtel HWZ account a message and see if they can help you?

I believe it is 1.33.6.3.150 which I think may be the latest general issue firmware (I only collected my units last Saturday).
