Hi .....from my own experience, the range for 5Ghz for Airties seems kinda short. Try to place the unit closer to each other ....for me i end up having 4 X Airties 4920 in order to cover my 5 room HDB.

I seem to have some trouble getting a green 5G LED on Airties when using it as a AP. Anyone having the same issue and know how to resolve it?

I’m using 4930 for about 1 month. So far so good. Why 2gbps? The larger bandwidth is good if your family has a lot of users consuming it. The wired connection can reached more than 1gb

Hi SingTel,

SingTel just offered me a recontract to upgrade to 2 Gbps plus free Air Ties. Can I expect the Air Ties 4930 and new router and onr to support the 2 Gbps?

To the gurus, why upgrade to 2 Gbps when wireless clients can’t optimize and the limited Cat 6 Lan connections can’t take advantage. Moreover the Ethernet backhaul for the Air Ties max out at Gigibit.

Hi Guys, I just got a 4920 from a friend and try to set it up.

I’m on Singtel 1 GB plan. Currently I am connecting one mesh directly to ONR via Cat 6 lan. Am I doing this correct ? I do not need the router anymore right ?

The other just further across the hall standalone.

And anyone can share the updated firmware ?

if you are sure its an ONR, then you don't need the singtel router that acts as an AP.

firmware update is done remotely through singtel's server.

i used to experienced the same
then i changed the positions of both units
now both lights stay on green
maybe u try repositioning
a simple way to see is to put the 2 units close to each other (for testing purposes)
if both lights stay green throughout ... then it’s confirmed that the cause of your blinking / red is due to obstructions, distance ...

I went to singtel shop and was told the 4930 is only meant for 2Gbps plan. Can anyone confirm this?

Hi, I was told by Singtel guy either I go for mesh or router. So for better wifi coverage I went for a pair of Airties mesh. But the Airties only has 1 ethernet jack but I need 2 at TV console area.

Can I make use of the router to solve this?

My network is :

ONR at DB/switch board cabinet which is wired to my rooms and living room TV console area.

Mesh 1 is at TV console wired from wall. Mesh is wired to my Singtel TV box. But like I said I need another wiring which is to my speakers.

Mesh 2 is in bedroom wired from wall.

Will call Singtel to help but wonder if anyone can offer any advice too.

Thanks.

Hi sweeyih,

May I ask how did you get the firmware to be updated to 1.33.10.1.1368 which I believe is the latest version? Singtel seems quite slow in response nowadays on this forum, unlike previously when I ask for firmware update for my pair of Airties 4920, which they responded and PM me within 2-3 days.

BTW, I'm currently a customer of Singtel's fibre broadband and MioTV, Home digital line services for more than 10 years already.

the firmware is no longer available via a link. If i'm not wrong, they have stopped circulating the firmware already. They will get your singnet ID and push the firmware down remotely.

Alternatively, you might wanna try resetting the airties, because resetting the device will initiate the firmware check feature with the remote server, same goes for the ac plus/elite routers..
