Did u accidentally get connected to the router instead of mesh?

On my airties wifi app I will get this msg, "You are connected to your home gateway, not an Airties nod. Pls turn your gateway's wireless feature off to use the high performance Airties wireless network". Can anyone pls advise me on how to troubleshoot this problem. Thank you.

Thanks. I didn't buy too expensive. Still it was a bit ridiculous to buy and end up with a white elephant.
It's a good warning in future not too buy something that will lock you down into walled garden.

Can you set it up as AP mode? In that case, you should be able to use it with your own routers.

i get that too
nope, not connected to router coz wireless disabled for both the 2.4G as well
as the 5G
definitely an app issue coz i still get good speeds when far away from the router which i wouldn’t had it really been the router i’m connected to instead of the mesh

ST agent MIA liao ...

What is your current router and your current plan? Only if your existing router is faulty or it does not support the new plan, then they will give you new AC Plus router which is also a lousy router.

Since you have used Singtel for quite some years, you must be using an ONT. Just buy a better router (need to support SingTel Vlan). No need to get SingTel Mesh.

Better and cheap router below S$100: Asus RT-AC2600 from Carousell. TP-Link AX10 (AX1500 grade) router.

If the router is still not good enough, then buy cheap Mesh to supplement it, like TP-Link Deco M4, M5 and M9+.

Of course you can also buy higher end router like Asus RT-AC86U or new WiFi 6 ≥AX3000 grade routers.

whilst on the topic of wifi ...
i’ve always wondered how my neighbours’ wifi are so powerful that their wifi (SSID) shows up on my phone when i’m searching wifi at my lift lobby, or even when i’m downstairs checking mailbox lol (whereas my own wifi mesh cannot even make it past the gates though i have 1 node not far off from the door) ?
their SSIDs are STxxxxx which suggest to me they might be using the default routers ?

Long rang wifi or even high power transmission.

I'm currently using Asus 86U. Is it worth getting another Asus router with Aimesh or is Netgear orbi rbk50 better in terms of coverage and speed?

Hi Singtel,

Been using the Airties 4920 on AP mode with firmware 1.21.10.2.1665 for ages now.

Can you send me the link for the latest and hopefully greatest firmware yet?

Thanks!

Hi blakbyte,

Could we check if and how your Airties 4920 units are connected to your Singtel router please?

Thanks.
