Urm . In UQ , first year for my PhD in epidemiology but I have preliminary conditions attached to my research. Have to look at the data that the hospitals ( Royal Brisbane and Princess Alexandra as well as a few others ) collected before I finalise my proposal. I think I will be crying if they did not merge the data.ninnyhammers said:Yep yep, we should def meet up!Is this going to be your first year as well?
I think unilodge has places, you have to contact them.ninnyhammers said:lol, I'm female. When does school normally start for you? Anyway think will spent a large part of my first year on St Lucia campus..which would be great i guess! Any recommendations for accommodation? I applied for Campus Lodge but they haven't got back to me yet...![]()

I know a few people in Brisbane who can take us around. One is an ex-nurse - we used to work together in canberra, the other is a dental student who I knew in melbourne. I was an ex nurse too.
Hrm ,which course are you doing?lycans said:epidemiology!! hmm thats wat i wanna do my phd on if i can get the honors that i need...they say PHD in australia is sponsored by the aussie gahmen, is it for real?

I applied to unilodge and now they are holding a place for me.
Take whatever accomodation you can find first because Jan and Feb is the peak rental period. Better to pay extra for a shelter over your head than to worry later. One semester won't hurt . Just do not stay long in unilodge tis all.doinker07 said:i dun think unilodge is a wise choice for UQ students. no point staying in the city, pay such high price and still have to take ferry or bus to uni. for QUT students its understandable, cos unilodge is directly outside their campus.

Remember to be nice to nurses there when you start your rotation. You will know why later.
