I buy the iphone X cause it has the highest screen to body ratio. The notch? It's nothing!!! :vijayadmin: :s13:

The notch is probably the best invention ever actually, I'm actually glad they squeeze the camera inbetween the top left and right areas.

You not getting iPhone X? My gf changed from 7 cause she don't like plus. Maybe changing my Plus back to 7 lol. :s13:

Sometimes very tiring to hold such a big phone. :s22:

He super fanboy one, if you read all the posts.

Maybe remove display he also applaud them. :s13:

No doubt I think FaceID is great, but I personally think it would be even better to have both with option for users, or you could even enable a 2 tiered security IMO.

Eg, you can use either FaceID or TouchID to unlock, but to pay say above $100, you need to both use TouchID and FaceID to authorise the payment, with the ID at the back like most Android phones so holding it is as normal.

ah ok.. :D

face ID is a great technology and very well implemented, quite impressed the way it works in dark etc.. but can't say thats the best and most convenient way.. apple should have retained touch ID, it's no big deal.. they could've easily done it..

They can't and won't. Simply because if you want touch ID, you already got the 8 and 8 plus.

my wifey saying, why is screen so small (coming from 7plus), and phone too heavy.. i showed 7plus is actually heavier than x, then she's like.. but i still think this is heavier in my hand :s22: now saying she may give x to her sister cause she wants big screen.. i said ok, whatever floats your boat.. :s8:

10th anniversary phone, first of the next gen, radical design change.. etc etc.. can't blame if you expect it to have the best of everything :)

Touch ID requires quite a bit of tooling on iPhone.

to come back means dedicated space is needed. so really no point in wasting space for another authentication technology. but of course Touch ID since its introduction is still the gold standard even if it is no longer the fastest in the market.

No need too much space. They can allocate a slim bezel, comparable to mate 10. You can put fingerprint scanner at the bottom. And you can put the face id sensors on top bezel. So no more notch. Nice full screen display.

What for when they can be different?

Soon, competitors will adopt similar design philosophy on their phones.

TouchID fail rate is quite high for me. Must make sure thumb is totally dry and home button is totally clean. After the oleophobic layer wore out I must keep the home button clean or it will just have multiple failures until must press passcode.

FaceID failure rate so far much less than TouchID for me. Usually fails if it’s lying on the table, but every time I pick up the phone to use it properly it has no issue at all. Apps that are locked also unlock much faster and I don’t have to think about it unlike TouchID.

Do not miss the home button at all cause swiping feels much smoother.

Face ID works while the phone is lying flat on the table too.
