Whats the best way to fund account currently?

I read 1 on using FSMone and then transferring to TDA.
How about DBS MCA account, are the rates similar, looking to do about 5k a quarter.

Are above methods considered wire transfer?

I just funded my account with both sgd and USD.
My first time, i fund it with my sgd as i not sure how to fund USD. This basically is to transfer your sgd from your local bank to td local bank account. Using sgd will win /lose on forex.

to fund USD is a bit tricky. Your dbs need to have a USD / multi currency account, which is pretty easy. Just take a few mins in your app. However, you need to set up a remittance account using td's wells fargo bank account numbers.
Note that all funding must be from accounts bearing your name. It is to avoid money laundering.

oh ur not restricted to only the bank account # u registered with TD?

i was wondering how to change the bank account registered with TD. Also there could be cases where names are similar, thats why i tot they bind it to the bank account u registered

have u tried withdrawal? when you withdraw with USD, they auto convert to SGD?

or will u withdraw USD and eat TT charges?

how to fund in sgd? I am really confused.. the transfer part for dbs... which one do i have to click for transfer? DBS remit and overseas transfer?
2 options
1. Use your local bank account to transfer to td dbs account. This will be in sgd.

2. Set up a remittance in your local bank and transfer to td USA account in Wells Fargo bank. That will ensure td receive the funds in USD.

I don't know what you are trying to ask.

No, i have not yet withdraw. My aim is to build a sizable portfolio in td before i withdraw. Not going to happen in the next 2 years. Unless i get a windfall.

if i use sgd 100 to test to see the money will be transferred. will it be alright? For the Receipt address and full name, what do i key in? Ps for the noob question. it is DBS remit and Overseas Transfer Option 1? For TD dbs account, it is in sgd? not in usd?
Most important is the bank name and account number. My first time i transfer to the US account, i missed out the account number. It took one week for the funds to automatically return to my local account.
For transfer to td dbs account, it is in sgd only

Just follow the instructions from TD Ameritrade to fund your account - they don’t take a huge cut on the exchange rate. I used to fund the account from my US bank that had free domestic wire transfers, but I still needed to fund that account using Transferwise, so I still lost about 0.5%. That is similar to what I lose with TD Ameritrade if I just send them a SGD cheque... so I don’t bother anymore and just send them a cheque.

Congrats!

So are you funding your newly opened TDA account, or you have given up and trading with other broker(s) already?
I'll use it as a standby since I'm using ibkr and moomoo already.

wau lau why need to wait so long?
No idea. The website got a notice saying that account opening will take longer since they've started no commission trading.

Just received notification that my TDA account is opened. Total time taken = 3 months.

But, when I logged in to check, I was prompted to enter "missing info", which I am 100% sure I had filled in during account opening application in Jan 2021.

Not going to fund it. Will chuck it aside as a last-resort backup account. Have totally lost faith and trust in them, based on their demonstrated efficiency and effectiveness these 3 months.

Guys, am I right in my understanding:

1) Minimum funding amount => More than USD$2K to trade, more than USD$500 to see live data

2) Inactivity fee => TDA calls this platform fee? If so, then it seemed there is no inactivity fee (like what IBSG is charging) and no minimum number of trade needed per month

3) Data fee => Free but to see live data need to fund more than USD500

4) What is the withdrawal fee assuming if were to withdraw in USD back to local bank?

5) Any dividend handling fee if the stock or ETF pays out dividends?

Had emailed customer service but still no reply after more than a month. Tried calling couple of times but given up after waiting over 40mins on those occasions. Thought it might be easier to get some help here if anyone can advise. Thanks!

I only know there is a USD25 for withdrawals. Also take note PDT rule applies as TDA is based in the US.
