Why my cash available for trading more than my deposit ah?

Margin. Always look at Cash and Sweep Vehicle if you do not want do draw on margin.

How much is the amount to fund in order to see live data?

Posted from PCWX using SM-G965F

500 USD, but to trade you need 2000 USD

There are 2 apps, thinkorswim and ameritrade. Which one can be used for trading?
I opened an account, took 3 months by the way, and deposited some sgd. But after i login to thinkorswim, i cant see any prices or functions. Looks more like account management thing. For Ameritrade app, i cant even login.
How to use this thing?

I am using TOS app and it works fine. TD Ameritrade mobile app does not work for SG users for some reason. Check with CSO if you have already deposited over 500 USD of funds and still cannot receive market data.

Register on December 2020, but till today still pending :s22:

Same situation as you, though I applied in January 2021 though.

We can continue to wait, or we can look/apply for alternatives while waiting. I did the latter.

I applied in Jan 2021. I printed the CAR form, pen-signed it, rescanned and uploaded the form back to them. Few weeks later, I logged in to check and found the CAR form I uploaded was not shown and instead there was a line saying that CAR form is no longer required.

Did once last year. It's pretty easy, TDA will mail you a set of instructions.

Just got an email from them to fill up another form because of the order of name is diff between account and NRIC/passport (eg lee chong wei vs chong wei lee).

So it applies to you, you want to to submit below form with ACAT transfer form together to speed up the process.

Whats the best way to fund account currently?

I read 1 on using FSMone and then transferring to TDA.
How about DBS MCA account, are the rates similar, looking to do about 5k a quarter.

Are above methods considered wire transfer?

If you read the relevant page on TDA SG's website you will see there are 2 possible common ways to fund your account.
https://www.tdameritrade.com.sg/why-td-ameritrade/account-types-and-funding.html

1. Send SGD via DBS/POSB Electronic Transfer.
- SGD received will be converted at their rate into USD for your ongoing trading. Saw previous comments that their FX rates are not bad?

2. Send USD via Wire Transfer (aka SWIFT).
- You can change SGD into USD using FSMOne or other available platforms, or using DBS MCA and then send USD via DBS Remit with zero charges.
- DBS retail FX rates are lousy; I observe on average 90-100 pips premium over current spot rate.

Note:
For those who are planning to open accounts with TDA SG, you would have read countless feedback on their account-opening process and turnaround time. I for one am still waiting for my account to be opened after a 2-month wait. Have since opened account with another broker and happily trading/investing.

Can anyone help? I saw on their website that effective margin rate is 9% for $49999 and 7.5% for $999999. How can it be so high, compared to others, am I missing something?
Yes, it is that high.

This may come as a surprise, but a great many investors never use margin... myself included.
Yes, I do not use it too (as yet).

But TD Ameritrade Singapore individual accounts only offer margin accounts, no cash accounts. So, one has to be disciplined and careful.

If you are planning to use margin IBKR is the way to go.
