It says the optimum$ per retail spend is capped at 30 optimum$.

Because the T&C uses both "transaction" and "spend" in the wordings, the sudden use of "spend" made me have some doubt. Does this mean $30 is capped for
1) each transaction, or
2) each category (each dining) per month is capped at $30?

Hi I got my statement. So I can see both the original Eur amount as well as SGD amount and on calculation it is 2.5% over the exchange rate on xe.com. I think 1% is charged by mastercard and 1.5% is charged by ANZ.

I also got 5% optimum $. Actually not 5%. There has been rounding and also there was about 40% of my which was not dining but it was local spend in Singapore before my trip overseas trip. So that brought down the avg optimum $ to about 2.8%.

Sent from Xiaomi REDMI NOTE 2 using GAGT

yes, thats from my experience too. the rounding down is a bummer.
if coupled with the others non-category purchase, then my avg is on the low side of 2%
not the best, but decent, i guess

the luggage thing is a scam.

when i hit the 500 dollars within the first 30days of the promo. i was told by CSO , that i qualify for the luggage. but have to wait till the entire promo is over in sept, and they will send a letter to inform you to collect. i called in last week and enquire on the status and then now the CSO say, i dont qualify. tthere was a mistake ...

stun like vegetable... this kinda mistake also can?

anw, ANZ is the worst cc , from my experience.
once i hit the next O$50, i will cancel the card.

depends on how u see it.

u play their game, u get their benefits.

i opt in 5% travel category, went to travel agency to sign for my family's japan tour package worth 11k.

i asked the sales executive to swipe my tour packages in multiples of $600. sure, it took the executive quite some time and i need to sign almost 20 charge slips, but i played via the rules, and got $550 direct cashback from this transaction alone.

Got stopped by their CSO at West Mall. Was persuaded to sign up for ANZ Optimum World MasterCard. Usually I will run away from these people but however I give it a try lah. See if approve or not. I don't spend much on CC. Only about $500 - $600 per year.

If that's the case this won't be a good card for you. Even if that upper limit of $600 is entirely in the chosen category (unlikely), and you get the full 5% without any rounding down (unlikely), you'd still get only 30 Optimum$ in a year, and can't redeem it until you reach 50, which would be more than half a year later. Take away all the optimistic assumptions and you are looking at more than 2 years to redeem the 50 Optimum$. Not really worth the trouble.

This may be answered before. Because ANZ says $0.05 is awarded for every $10. Does that mean if I spend two times of $16, I will get

$0.05 x 2 for two $16 spent rounded down to nearest $10 each, or
$0.15 for total $32 spent

Basically, whether it is awarded at a transaction level or at a CC bill total level.
