Track the optimum$ earned and try to spend to earn to the nearest optimum$ in the statement month

Actually this is not simple also especially when there are transactions near the statement date, there is no way to tell when the transaction will be posted. Posted date not reflected in the credit statement, even when I call the CSO he also can't advise on the posted dates of my past transactions.

Maybe spend like 1 week before the statement date to ensure it get posted, and spend in multiples of $20 after that. Haha, actually if I lazy I also don't bother too much, at most lose 90cents.

Btw, I thought all the transactions in the statement are posted already. Those transactions that are not in the statement will be posted in the next statement.

Ya but let's say your rebate is $9.9, you want to go Mac buy a burger for it to become $10. But unlike other cards where you can infer after how many days the transaction will get posted, this card like nobody knows leh...

I also gave up on making sure the rebate is whole number at the statement date already....

Yea, probably will use the card till 1 week before statement date. Btw OCBC also don't show posted date on statement.

Don't need to get so stress about the rounding.

Just swipe anything that is $2.00 and above. In the end, you will lose Optimum$ 0.9 due to rounding down, which is like $0.90 at most. Ultimately, you will still get close to 4-5% which is very good % in rebates (especially for dining) in my opinion.

You should just take note of the last quarter to make sure you can hit Optimum$ 50 so you can redeem. Otherwise, you will get 0% in rebates!

Is this the common practice for ANZ redemption for cash rebates?
My statement spent is $2800, deduct $50 cash rebate from redemption, net payable is $2750. And they gave 27 points base on payable not spent? Long time did not use card with such points system already..

$2750 should be around 130 points, not 27 points.
Also maybe you spent in wrong category.

The optimum$ is awarded like this:

If the transaction fall under the selected category for up to 5% rebate, you get 0.1 optimum$ per $2 spending. (ie transaction amounts $2 to $3.99 all get 0.1 optimum$ only)

If the transaction do not fall under the selected category, you get 0.1 optimum$ per $10 spending. (ie transaction amounts $10 to $19.99 all get 0.1 optimum$ only)

Also note that optimum$ awarded is capped at 30 optimum$ per transaction

At the end of the month the total optimum$ you get is sum of the optimum$ from each transaction and then rounded down to the nearest optimum$.

Maybe you can share what is the breakdown of the $2800 spending

Best if he card is used mainly for transactions that fall under the selected category for up to 5% rebate. There are lots of other cards that give better than 1% rebate
