Thanks bro! How does ANZ travel visa stack against optimum? I understand everyone is saying it's 2.5% effectively now. Why?

It used to be 2.5% but it's only half of it now. Basically the points that you earn, you convert into cash rebate (according to reward catalogue) and the rebate amount is calculated against your original spending. That's how you work out the percentages.

I made 3 separate transactions at 4 Fingers, Sakae Sushi and Subway. Called AZN recently and found out that all 3 transaction ineligible for 5% rebate under Dining & Leisure category. I wonder what is considered a restaurant, that Sakae Sushi can't qualify. Our whole concept of Dining and Restaurants is messed up by Merchant Category Codes. So disappointed!

Btw, I found out that there are different MCC for each category below:
Merchant (MCC)
Caterers (5811)
Eating Places/Restaurants (5812)
Drinking Places (Alcoholic Beverages) (5813)
Fast Food Restaurants (5814)

Any website to check if a dining place qualify for the 5%?

no way to check since it depends on the merchant code - even the CSOs cannot advise you with a high degree of confidence. Having said that, I have never not gotten 5% rebate at the dining places (including bars and hotels) that I have been in the past 3 months. :s12:

Just found out about this card so I'm a little slow. Also guessing this question has been addressed before but here goes:

Does the "grocery" option incorporate places other than NTUC or Cold Storage? I usually buy my meats from Foodie Market and specialty items from Hubers. The 5% rebate would really help there.

I tried searching the merchant codes for those places but no luck.

Thanks in advance!

I understand that there is a promo now for new card members. If you spend $488 within 30 days. You get $100 rebate.

I currently am not a principle Anz card holder but I do hold a sup card. Anyone knows if I am entitled to the promotion? Called in and asked but the CSO don't seem very sure. :s11:

Shouldn't affect you. Supplementary is technically under your principal card holder name. If you apply one for yourself, then you are considered a new principal card holder and should be eligible for the promo.
