Yeah iPhones retain value fairly well (If they are in good condition)

Don't have to format but they'd advise you to do a backup, just in case.
Really depends on the situation there, peak or non-peak.
Can you imagine the scene if everyone having their iPhone battery changed go inside that room? And if they want to let you see, they'd be holding a session to show all users.

Usually won’t happen unless your phone always under extreme heat or cold. Normal usage after 500 cycles your battery health will still be around 85% to 90%.

From my experience usually the first 100 cycles will still stay strong at 100% / 99% / 98%. Then after that it will drop quite fast each month. By the time you reach 300 to 400 cycles your battery health should be around 85% to 90% but the drop starts to slow down.

It also depends on personal usage whether heavy or light user. If heavy user and always charge while playing game got chance to drop below 80% battery health before 500 cycles.

That’s because the iPhone will only show a maximum of 100% even if your battery started off life with say 105%, 5% higher than its official rated capacity. Batteries are not manufactured equal, some can have higher actual capacity than others.
