They have always stick with intel ever since the transition from PPC -> Intel

This time will be another major milestone to switch over to ARM based silicon

Transition in 2 years. Old apps will have to run emulation mode on ARM platform unless using new version.

This is not entirely Apple's fault. Intel just couldn't get volume production in 10nm. Their 14nm CPUs have heat issue.

Also for compatibility of apps between phone and pc.

Yes, but the significance of this is that Apple is using ARM.

I believe apple has to be rather confident with arm's performance to change. If its true, then we could have an arm cpu thats as fast as x86. Its going to be interesting to see arm as a challenge to x86.

Is for apps compatibility between phone and pc. This was once Microsoft view of win PC and win phone but finally phone failed to make it.

Hope Apple dont fall into same trouble similar to those days using Power Chip from IBM.

it was motorola. Then to Power pc. Then to Intel and now to Arm.

Apple's MAC OS and iOS are derive from BSD UNIX. Porting MAC OS to Arm should be easy for Apple.

Thats right. Nothing to do with 14nm or 10nm.
Anyway, iOS code should be able to run effecient with ARM chip as is custom made.

Motorola was stupid enough to ditch its own 68000 for IBM's Power PC. RISC architecture was total disaster with its simplicity and speed strategy.

That is Apple inability to cool the cpu, not intel fault. So no, it’s doesn’t matter if intel have 14, 10 or even 7. Apple will still dump them.

Donr think is heat issue with Intel mobile cpu version. Some guy may be mixed up desktop cpu with mobile cpu.
